Eastenders-Hartmans are Axed!
Sam and Ava will be leaving later this year!
Apparently it was always the plan for Sam and Ava to leave, whilst I couldn't care less about Sam I cannot believe that Ava is going to just walk out on Dexter and choose Sam over him, and what was the point in bringing in Cora's long lost daughter just to write her out a few months later, once again a waisted opportunity to explore Ava and Cora. I guess Dexter may move in with the Brannings. |

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and what the plan is for Cora / Dexter. I can see Cora either quitting or being axed shortly after, and don't know about Dexter. Perhaps him and Jay will move into a flat together?
Thank god Sam and Ava are going though, both total non-entities. |

What a waste of a decent actress and potential plot with Cora and Ava.
Would have much preferred Sam to run off having got a new kidney off Dexter. |

Can not tell you how happy I am today - (though i'd of like Ava to be more developed, but that's life, I won't be heartbroken but felt she had something) Sam on the other hand - what a waste of space he has been, will not miss him.

I may be in the minority but I'm really disappointed that Ava's leaving.
Sam has completely ruined her character but if he were to leave it would be pretty easy to redeem her. With Dexter staying that leaves another family unit in tatters.

I don't think Cora will be axed at all!, the show needs older characters and Ann Mitchell is a fine actress so I think DTC will keep her, I don't mind Dexter staying as he fits in well with the Brannings, Lola and Jay and I love his relationship with Cora.

Agreed but they have thoroughly wasted Ava and Cora,
Cora will still have her Grandchildren and Max maybe they can bring back Rainie- I love Cora and would hate see her go. |

CUT AND PASTE WHAT I POSTED ON ANOTHER THREAD:
Are they honestly saying they brought in Ava solely for the kidney storyline? What tosh. Although not favourites of mine, I really do think this is exposing EastEnders for what it is right now - shortsighted characters with no development or long term planning. I can't help but think that if Sharon was a new character she would've gone the same way. So much they could've done with Ava. She's linked to the Brannings via Cora - which they've failed to develop. What was the point of the Cora / Tanya / Ava plot at the back end of last year if they had no intention of following it through. They should've stuck with the original lie that she had died and had Cora deal with that. What a WASTE. I bite my tongue so much with EastEnders - especially the backlash on here often directed at Newman, but this is a classic example of underdeveloped plots with no foresight. They should keep Ava and go with the original speculation that Sam was only befriending them for his own gain and have him abandon them again. |

Would have much preferred Sam to run off having got a new kidney off Dexter. there should have been a conclusion to Cora and Ava, before anything else happened, the only way to end Coras sad story is to kill her off in her arms! |

I think they've accepted they failed them as characters, the story initially was interesting but they failed to develop it any further and it seems after Tanya left they sort of gave up putting in any effort with them and never bother integrating them into the square like they've done with Dexter, it wasn't working so they've axed them or as they put it brought the story to its conclusion.

So any plans Newman may have brought them in with the intention of may have just been scrapped by DTC. Where does it say they only brought in Ava for the kidney plot? |

Does it not say that they’ll be gone in a couple of weeks once the kidney plot has finished?

But this is the point, the show is effectively under new management. The show's struggling to get off the ground because there's been 3 boss changes in 2 years.
So any plans Newman may have brought them in with the intention of may have just been scrapped by DTC. Where does it say they only brought in Ava for the kidney plot? |

I liked Ava, she was just wasted.
Sam is boring and the story sucked. Dexter.. annoying. |
