With so many being axed and leaving, i would personally have a big disaster on the square, a train falling off the bridge, or maybe a massive incident at R&R.

Make it somebody's birthday, and have most of the characters there, and do a brookie style, millienium club bombing.

No thanks, I'd prefer all the characters to have individual exits. And how we know all the axings it would take the drama out of the disaster as we would know who'd die.

I doubt it, I reckon Carl and Kirsty will fall in love again and run away together.
Poppy will realise she doesn't love Fatboy or he actually cheats.
AJ... dunno and don't care :P
Ava and Sam already explained so

These exits wont bring back viewers, this is exactly what Newman would do!

No thanks.

I'd rather them all just each have their own specific exits related to their own plots.

Big stunts are a bit overdone and they should only be used once a major storyline has reached a peak. It would be wasted on the show at the moment.

Fix things from the very bottom first and build up.

No, EastEnders doesn't really do disasters. I'd much rather they give these characters quiet exits than waste money on an explosion or whatever.

I agree partly, I would one day want to see a train crash on the bridge!

Stick with Hollyoaks and CSI: Miami for big disasters.. a big stunt is the least EE needs right now. I love Carl and Kirsty but I'm excited for there exits as I'm sure Daniel and Kierston will be able to pull it off... a big disaster wouldn't reach their potential. A lot more drama would be made of Carl killing Kirsty after she rejects him again and then him killing himself out of guilt. It would also be cheaper.

yes do a stunt that's already been done in corrie and do it in the style of a soap that completely lost the plot and ended up in soap heaven... Please tell me you're not DTC otherwise the show is doomed

Anything but a black taxi exit! Viewers need to come back, you know? thats the aim!

Compare this to EastEnders 2012-13 Newman era?

I'm not against big stunts completely, I just don't think it should be used to wipe out deadwood. It should be used when it can be done properly when the show's in a better place.

The club's burning down for the 6th time in two years it seems.

But no, that doesn't make a good story and it's only a quick fix.

Disasters to get a cheap increase in viewers doesn't repair the show longterm.

But You get more drama in one episode of hollyoaks than a month of eastenders!! Hollyoaks started upping there game since the bus crash in 2012, still getting stronger!

It's the most likely though.

But Hollyoaks is relying on absurd stories, 5 murderers roaming around the village. Shock death after shock death.

It's just cheap thrills. It works for Hollyoaks, won't work for Eastenders.

You overuse something enough and it loses its impact.

EastEnders needs to sort out its character drama than relying on constant disasters to squeeze some quick and easy drama for the sake of it.

Even if the quality of Hollyoaks has increased, their viewing figures haven't.

A stunt may not necessarily be the solution. It creates hype and excitement, sure, but by the next week we'd have all moved on.

Max is having a party at home. All the deadwood are there. A gas leak from the property below their house blows them all sky high. Done and dusted. All that wood will make a fantastic fire

Hollyoaks I think is dreadful at the moment, it's just stunt after stunt after death after murder after death.......

I don't want Eastenders to turn into a stunt just to grab viewers, I want gritty drama and lots of it, I want to feel for a characters pain, I want to hate the baddie, I want to learn about topics that I don't know much about and I want to go to work and say, bloody hell, did you watch Eastenders last night, wasn't it brill.
