Lets use Doctor who as an example.

You submit 2 ratings for it one overnights and one official and a week later you get the extra points added to your season total.

I don't think a whole week of officials is a good idea but a programme every now and then might make people more aware of official ratings.

It's so strange you happen to mention this as I started to think how to throw an official rating into the mix while I was drawing up the week four schedule - mainly because I have one eye on Doctor Who for the anniversary rating. Bear with me regarding this!
