I heard somewhere that it states in Shane Richies contract that the Alfie Moon character must be behind the bar in the Vic and that was part of the agreement for him returning to EE.

Is this true because I find it hard to believe that the EE bosses would agree to such demands from a past actor because the Vic is the heart of EE.

No truth in this. Just made up by someone who wants to discredit the actor.

I read that in an interview he felt that Alfie belonged in the Vic and felt a bit cheated when he worked in the market. However I'm not sure if that's a claws for his return/saying in the show?

So if Peggy returned would the bosses axe Alfie to put her back behind the bar?

I'm not struck on Peggy and never have been. I would have liked to have seen Max and Kirsty running the Vic but they would need to watch that Lauren didn't drink away all the profits.

I think Cora would be a better landlady.

I like Alfie, but would rather have the Mitchells back at the pub!
it was more fun!

The Vic is the rightful home of the Watts family so put Sharon in there- but not straight away, improve her character first. I wouldn't want TPTB to put her in the Vic in a lazy attempt to fix her.

Sharon needs to open up about what shes feeling, we know nothing about this new Sharon, we need a free hander, Ian, Dot and Sharon!

thats just your preference not what would be suitable, everyone knows who ever is behind the bar needs to be either vibrant, charismatic and somewhat larger than life. Cora sounds like shes about to keel over and is very cliched

Cora would have been a great landlady although many on here would disagree.

I think an episode with the 3 '85 characters would be amazing, I remember a scene between the three of them earlier this year that I adored

It might not be in his actual contract but Shane did say he would leave if they moved him out of the Vic. This needs to happen.

I doubt he could have that clause in his contract but you never know. They should move him out of The Vic and see what happens. That place has died on it's arse twice with him at the helm. You'd think they'd learn. Arguably the 2 worst eras had Alfie in The Vic as the landlord.

I so agree with this. He cannot act to save his life and is a weak and crap character. Axe him now!!!

He's not a bad actor, he's won many awards for his portrayal as Alfie and his scenes with Nana Moon during her final storyline were amazing and heart breaking, and his acting during the baby swap storyline. Alfie's far more entertaining than most of the current cast.

I love Alfie in the Vic but I think it worked better when Peggy was landlady and Aflie was the manager.

I love Alfie, since hes first started in Eastenders and glad hes back in it. Yeah true hes a good Actor and won awards which he deserved. I dont think they will axe him, think they'll let Shane decide what he wants, if he wants to go he can, if not he stays
