Hey Digital Spy - Question about Eastenders Crew
Do we know if anyone on the crew of Eastenders (particularly writers) are being axed by DTC? As a few people have pointed out around the forum, its no use axing the actors (some of whom are great with the right material) if the writers are just going to keep churning out the same crap.

I hope so. The writing is the biggest problem. The scriptwriters don't seem to have a clue about how to fashion an engaging storyline. The day to day writers are hit and miss. Some of them should be axed with immediate effect given the poor dialogue they've churned out. Then we have Simon Ashdown with far too much power over the direction of the series. He should stick to writing his almost exclusively Branning based episodes and let someone who loves the show as a whole take over his role. EastEnders isn't and was never meant to be The Branning Show.

Some of the writers Kirkwood brought in from Hollyoaks have gone recently. Perrie Balthazar for example.

I do think that DTC has listened to the audience on what they want and I'm sure he knows that the public is tired of watching a episode with nothing going on and poor dialogue. They getting rid of characters that have not been developed such as AJ and Poppy. Rubbish unbelievable character as Carl and reducing the Brannings such as Kirsty. I think he knows the main problem is production such as story lining, the writing and general not knowing what the show is all about.
