With the launch of BT Sport and the revamp of Eurosport Player I have finally had to admit my old Acer Revo nettop is not up to the job of streaming from these sites without occasional buffering and stuttering. I think the main problem is with its inbuilt graphics not coping with Silverlight very well.

Any recommendations for a small format and quietish PC to takes its place? Preferably with a wireless keyboard / mouse. It will be permanently connected to the large TV using HDMI and to the AV amp using digital optical (although this is not an absolute must as music playout will be by analogue stereo to my hi-fi system).

Watched MotoGP practise yesterday evening using the nettop and it was fine after it settled down from boot up.

But was thinking of going a different route and getting an inexpensive Android tablet instead which I could also use away from home. Anyone had any experience of using a tablet to stream Eurosport Player, BT Sport live BBC iPlayer to their main TV over HDMI using the tablet as a remote control device?

I have a 60 Android set top box and that easily played HD iPlayer content when a version of XBMC which supported the GPU was installed.

I recently bought a Acer Revo RL70 and that easily plays HD iPlayer under Windows or Linux. Although it has a low power AMD CPU it has a decent AMD GPU so can easily play 1080p HD as the CPU runs at around 30%.
