Shadrach Dingle appreciation
This guy just gets funnier if you ask me. I know it sounds weird but to me he's almost become like Emmerdale's answer to Corrie's Blanche in terms of one-liners and comments that tend to steal almost every scene he's in.
He's so disgusting and shameless, I'm glad they've given him NO conscience whatsoever. He doesn't need any big storylines either, he's just a perfectly vile but amusing back-up character. The lusting after Paul in drag is too damn funny. Maybe the belching and breaking wind gags are a bit repetitive at times, but even most of those work. So err, yeah, let's hear it for Shadrach

Well I can see why some would hate him, but he's a masterstroke if you ask me that they continue to strengthen. Doubt he'll be axed. |

I'll join.
I think he's fantastic. There's times he makes me feel sick (most times ) but I think he's a great character. He reminds me of the Father Jack of Emmerdale, he doesn't say much but when he does his disgusting image seems to make it even funnier than it should be or would be if another character said the same thing. |

![]() He also looks like my neighbour. And Dawn (don't know the name of the actress who plays her), should have played his daughter in this, she looks like him. |

didn't you love him spitting on the cutlery to clean it for the dinner but what happened to rodney i thought he was invited as well .shadrach definately has an unhealthy interest in shaz he's always leering and pouting at her is that not an underhand swipe at simple country folk .

Last night when chas came down the stairs he wolf whilstled at her and when Lisa reprimanded him he made 'movements' over his man boobs whilst leering! (to me looked like he was being appreciative about chas boobs!

Admittedly - he has mentioned some comments about Chas's boobs - one time when she stood on the roof of the cottage that Sadie was going to evict her and she started stripping off - he made a funny comment then, and another when Chas and Louise were having the best barmaid contest.
I'm not bothered though, incest runs in that family. I think he is totally brilliant, his one liners are fantastic and never fail to to get me cracking up |

I appreciate Shadrach!
He's just a very funny, but rather dirty old man. I don't see him being incest, and I think he sees Chas as his daughter, but the fact that she has a great pair is seperate from that. He's dumb enough to just see tits as tits, no matter whose they are (which is semi-disturbing, but probably what the writers are going for). The numerous scenes of him slouching over a chair, and Lisa/Zak/Chas (well anyone) having a go, and calling him lazy always make me laugh (like last nights). He's a character that doesn't need storlyines, he's just around providing great atmosphere and making the odd comment, IMO making the family more realistic. Isn't he Nellie's brother...cause you can't half see the resemblence in their behaviour. Starnge aswell, but I always get the image that he smells, even though it's never mentioned! |

Shadrack is very predictable and that can be a good thing. You just know when he is going to say something funny and the anticipatiion is half the fun.
