Can anyone tell me if I can get some of the basic sky channels without a dish?
Sky came to install to my new home after moving and they cannot get line of sight to the satellite. After 2 hours and 10 holes they gave up.
The wife is missing some of the basic channels such as living, gold etc and the kids channels too.

I've ordered a Humax YouView DTR-T1010 box for the basic features on freeview but its some of the channels that I'm after.

I'm still under contract with Sky for my phone and Broadband, when they finally get round to connecting me up! So changing to TalkTalk isn't an option, but would be happy to pay for a service.

Not in a cabled area so that's out of the question.
NP25 region.

This is what you can get from Youview http://www.youview.com/whats-on/ and it appears that there's a Now TV service that's operated by Sky so you can buy in extra online services from Sky - see http://www.nowtv.com/

If you want any clarification about their service, you can go to them directly: http://support.youview.com/articles/...-1370338021964

Hi. Look at sky go monthly ticket, this services is available online so if you have a laptop with hdmi and a hdmi connection on tv just plug in and away you go.

At the moment sky now tv only has films and live film channels.

Get an independent Satellite engineer to check if they can get you Sky. I have done several installs where Sky couldn't get a signal!
Remember the dish doesn't have to be fitted to the house, it can be mounted almost anywhere, I have "planted" dishes in flowerbeds in conservation areas & even sprayed them with a leaf shape to hide them......
