Thanks for that Cheryl.

Thanks Cheryl . No wonder Natalie had to see a physio, going from zero to 6 hrs a day training and putting all that extra stress on joints that are not used to it . Any sensible trainer/coach would advise to start slowly and gradually increase the work load .

The same for Patrick, having to practise the fastest, most exhausting dance of the SCD dances . Very unfair on himself and Susanna to be given the jive at the start of the competition.

The Friday standard looks to be a lot higher than that of Saturday - I guess there could he some surprises on Saturday though!

Patrick should practice with Tess (Casualty character), she is the one who can dance.

Thank you Cheryl, how random for those who have the Jive first,

I was thinking that too. Has there ever been such a mixture of dances for the first week?

Great Dane - nope; but I guess its a way of keeping things interesting for everyone. It does seem a bit unfair for those who have the jive but I don't think the producers have ever intended to start with something easy and move up the scale slowly. If the teachers can teach, then the celebs should be able to produce something on the night, however hard the dance. But I agree, a jive in week one isn't going to be a patch on a jive in week 8 or 9.... Maybe that's true of all the dances, though ?

Series 7 was strange as the group were split into 2 over 2 weeks, but had a Friday and Saturday performance: Tango or Waltz on the Friday, followed by Cha Cha Cha or Rumba on the Saturday.

good point TheAuburnEnigma Interesting that the couples have done so much more training already this year, though.

Music choices: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/strictlyc...Songs-Revealed

There are at least seven songs definitely used before there, possibly more. I note they haven't said in that post which couples are on which day, so possibly it's still to be set in stone.

Quite a few recycled song choices there, and some songs that have obviously been set up for the 'LOOK SHE'S DANCING TO A BOND SONG AND SHE WAS IN JAMES BOND!!!!' factor.

Pretty uncontroversial song choices, maybe even a bit on the safe side. Predictable choices for Julien and Fiona particularly.

Both worried and slightly intrigued to see what wardrobe do with Artem and Natalie for a CCC to 'Rasputin'.

Okay, here's a complete RECYCLING WATCH list (under a spoiler tag just in case):

Their song is the hit single ‘Moves Like Jagger’ by Maroon 5 - used for Harry & Aliona's Cha Cha, S9 week 1[*]Deborah and Robin are going to Tango to Abba’s ‘Money Money Money’ - used for Ray & Camilla's Tango, S4 week 3[*]Fiona and Anton will Tango to Duran Duran’s James Bond theme ‘View To A Kill’ - used for Jade Johnson's tango which she couldn't perform in week 10, but did perform in the final, S7[*]Mark and Iveta will dance to Tango classic ‘Hernando's Hideaway’ by Alma Cogan - used for Sarah & Brendan's Tango, S2 week 3[*]Patrick and Anya will Jive to Bruno Mars’ ‘Runaway Baby’ - used for Holly & Artem's Jive, S9 week 6[*]Rachel and Pasha Waltz to Luther Vandross’ version of ‘When I Need You’ - unknown version used for Jaye & Andrew's Waltz S3 week 1, Leo Sayer's version used for Patsy & Robin's Waltz S8 week 1[*]Susannah and Kevin are performing the Jive to ‘Shake Your Tailfeather’ by Blues Brothers - used for Alesha & Matthew's Jive, S5 week 3[*]Sophie and Brendan are Waltzing to ‘Moon River’ by Audrey Hepburn - I believe a first outing for this version, as we've seen the Andy Williams version for Esther & Anton S2 week 1, Tom & Camilla S6 week 11 and Louis & Flavia S10 week 6[*]Tony and Aliona Waltz to ‘What'll I Do’ by Alison Krauss - used for Ricky & Erin's waltz, S7 week 1[/LIST]

Think that's the lot, and credit to Ultimate Strictly (I'm not going to pretend I knew that from memory!)

That is a lot of recycling done by the producers.....

I am not pretending that the dancers/celebs picked any of those since the music had to be cleared and ready for learning well before the pairings were done.

Plenty to cringe at there - especially Deborah & Robin - that's an appalling tango tune.

Ben & Kristina might struggle with that song, they'll probably have to play around with it a bit to make it work

Vanessa & James - I'm surprised that song hasn't been used before actually. Does make for a decent CCC.

Funnily enough, they're my two favourite choices with Natalie & Artem's either being car crash or genius.
