So i have always used the same cable to charge my iphone 5 with my work computer and never had any problems. Then since the update all i get is the cable may not work properly, then it says trust the computer, so i click yes and then we go around in circles with the phone buzzing - starting to charge, then cancels then says do i want to trust this computer. I am not buying an apple lightening cable as they are a rip off. anyone else having the same issues?

The newer 3rd party cables work fine and a lot cheaper then apple. Search Ebay for 'Lightning Cable iOS 7' there are loads. They've basically found a better way to hack the chip in the cable. Don't go too cheap or get the extremely long cables though as some of those cables can be unsafe!

Read the comments and customer feedback carefully though. Only the latest cables work properly.

Just read this thread good knows why good job though maybe

So can you clarify I was about to order two cables for iPad 2 are we saying that cables are chipped from apple and I can't just buy any usb cable?

Or is this just lightning cables that you need to worry about?

Thanks to cheap knock offs causing or allegedly causing problems Apple have made it so certain third party cables won't work. http://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/news/...htning_cables/

Maybe next time get a phone which meets EU requirements of charging with microusb? Every other company on the planet does it...

This issue only affects lightning cables - so you will be fine for any for an iPad2
