I had a 6600 until around this time last year on Voda when I changed to a 6230 (also on Voda). The main reasons I changed was that the 6600 repeatedly froze on me where I would be unable to make outbound calls and inbound calls would be diverted to my voicemail. Info on the screen (ie signal strength) appeared to be okay, it would only be noticed when outboudn calls would not connect. The phone had to be rebooted once or twice a day to solve the problem. The menus on the 6600 were also very slow to change or update.

I haven't had these difficulties with the 6230 which also has the added features of BlueTooth (why did I put up with wires before?!?!) a camera (quality ok - typical grainy phone cam, screen a bit too small for a camera phone really), a MMC card (32MB supplied) and a built in MP3 player.

So, I would (and did) pick the 6230.

The 6600 has bluetooth and a camera and an mmc card (only 16mb but can be upgraded)

My 6600 came with a 32mb mmc card, not 16mb. as for the problems with freezing, that seems to be a specific problem. Did you not ask nokia about a replacement/ firmware upgrade? However, menus are generally slow.

I think you're being a bit harsh on the 6600. Just cos yours froze....

The main difference as i see it is that the 6600 runs the Symbian operating system. where as the 6230 runs the old nokia stuff.

therefor the 6600 as more expansion capability in the sense that it can run lots of software like a palm pilot can.

the question is if you think this is useful.

I'd go for 6600 for the MUCH better screen & Symbian.
