First show, Aliona and Sophie's dresses; second show, Abbey and Rachel's. Rachel's buttermilk ballgown was my overall favourite. First show, Tess's was awful, second show much better except for the belt.
It's nice to have a thread to discuss the dresses without being accused of being shallow!
I hate yellow in all its forms but Rachel's longer dress was a lot more helpful for a nervous waltzer than Sophie's yesterday, however lovely it looked on her.
I loved the Dragon Gown they crafted for Deborah! the colour suited her too.
Vanessa looked like a magenta sausage but WarDrobe have their work cut out there.
I really don't like to see male dancers dressed entirely in white - Alijaz - for me it just doesn't look right, but if they must wear it, then it should only be for the Latin, for the ballroom it looked faintly ridiculous.

I didn't think the standard was as high on the Saturday show as Fridays, but that might be because Wardrobe find it harder to dress older women who are more than a size 12.
I liked Patrick's jive partners dress (Anya?)
But thought that the top of Janettes dress was odd with the drapey black scarf and the gold /nude bit over the boobs

I wonder if Julien gets to have a say in what she wears, I can certainly see him insisting on having a say in what he wears

He did tell War Drobe what he wanted but unfortunately it was in a voice so high that it was only audible to dogs.

I wouldn't have imagined I would have liked all white, but thought it suited him and made the dance look really dreamy.

Yes I know hat the OP means but it is one word "wardrobe", in other words a piece of furniture to "ward" your "robes"!”
Apologies- should never use slang which is used in Non-appreciation thread on the main board. I realised later that it was a rubbish thread title!
However I thought that most would "get" the in joke, if only because the phrase War Drobe was used in the children's book The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe to decribe the country the children come from on the other side of the wardrobe
Sadly it came about as it seemed so often that only those at war with dancers would design such monstrosities that tripped them up at every available opertunity or made stunningly beautiful woman look look like muppets.
This year so far someone is not liking the men I think and poor Artem with is where's Wally socks seems to have annoyed someone in particular.

Tess' yellow monstrosity was nothing to do with the Beeb wardrobe dept - it was a Victoria Beckham number.

I tend to think it's deliberate to make us 'identify' with her a bit more. The woman was a model for goodness sake so she must have some idea of the basics! She's extremely attractive with a great figure and yet, as you say, managed to wear a dress so badly cut for a woman with ample boobs that she looked like she had monoboob and muffin top and in a colour so hard to wear it made her look as if she was recovering from 'flu/auditioning for the role of Big Bird.
Tess just needs to stand up straight. Because she's taller than Bruce, and has to do those stupid moves with Bruce at the beginning, she always stoops. Particularly to one side, making her clothes look awful.
Stand up straight, girl, and be proud.

I'm not sure that even standing up straight would sort out the wonky boobs - she needs a visit to Rigby and Peller to get them in the right place.

She also needs to step away from anything resembling a Quality Street wrapper
