Usually accompanied with a teaser image or short clip when used for promotion.

Basically, it means you won't see much. You'll get two or three seconds of "something" and then cut to the "ident", which will be the title/logo, air date and anything else they want such as hashtag.

You may get dialogue, but usually not. Something such as
- John Hurt looks up, says "I'm the Doctor", cut to ident.

Edit: as answer above, the ident might refer to the BBC ident. Not sure in this case, I think we'll get that but probably nearer the time.

You know the mini-ident trailers that have been used before - the theme tune, a logo, "coming soon"? That sort of thing. Short and sweet.

So basically it's a teaser?

If they are stings, in other words short and sweet will it be a case of "whatever you do, don't blink" or you'll miss it

Something to note, is that there will be two of them tonight. One before and one after and they will almost certainly be different.

That'll be the before teaser. In the after teaser they exterminate the TV

its great that were getting something, but honestly the 1st trailer was in July wasnt it, this is a little late now

Late for what? This is a very standard time for the BBC to promote something on TV. Regardless of Comic-Con exclusives.

Two months is not a 'little late' to make people aware of when a broadcast is and get people excited about it. Which is the point of the trailers.

Well we'll see the first one any minute now. Can't believe I'm actually watching Strictly Come Dancing for what will probably the tiniest bit of Who, the things I do in the name of DW fandom!

Still, am curious about Atlantis, so even if we don't get much in the of DW snippets tonight it will hopefully be worth it.

It's really shameless of the Beeb to publicise THAT to try and get us to watch Atlantis.

I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting something a bit meatier than that...

Ahahahaha! That's your lot BBC viewers! That. Is. Your. Lot! Over two months ago Comic Con got a proper trailer! And all this time down the line we get a tacky looking ident, a cliche hash tag and a mumbled voice over. Doctor Who is finally TAKING OVER TV.
