I'd be so full of myself if I looked like her to be honest.

nicole in work mode is highly ambitious, ruthless and manipulative. in my opinion that is possibly why her long term work colleagues turned against her. nicole certainly carried the pussycat dolls vocally, but she isn't taken seriously out of the context of group in the us. that is why she hasn't had a solo hit record in her home country without using a feature and that is probably the reason why she hasn't released an album over there. she's also not above taking the crumbs from simon's table by accepting the uk factor role shortly after "leaving" the us version of the show with her camp claiming she wanted to "focus on her music".

having said all that, the qualities highlighted in bold aren't necessarily that bad considering the industry she is in and she certainly makes the most of the opportunities open to her. to be a degree, beauty, talent and likeability are subjective opinions, but i honestly believe she processes all these qualities in spades. in terms of the show, i definitely think america's loss is the uk show's gain.”

I do genuinely think that Nicole left the US show on her own accord because she did have a very hard time over there and she was only ever a stop gap for Cheryl anyway. As you said, she isn't popular in the states. But that doesn't mean that if she planned on staying, she would've been on season 2. I'm not naive enough to believe she wouldn't have been axed.

She came across much better on the UK show during her 2010 stint and her music is more successful here too, so I've never quite understood why ITV didn't fall over themselves to sign her up for 2011 in place of Kelly Rowland (who is funnily enough now on the US X Factor, where she should've been in 2011!).

Is she suffering from Tulisa's second season syndrome?”

It wasn't until last years live shows until she came into her own. She was pretty boring during the auditions last year too even though she still did half of the tour. All I can remember from her was "no baby no". The focus this year is on Sharon for obvious reasons.

i always thought that was so strange. she was announced as the permanent new judge before auditions were even over, but you'd never have guessed that from the show's editing. the only one featured less than her was anastasia.....it was endless screen-time for mel b.

Nicole is the best thing that as happened to the X Factor since Cheryl left. I hope she remain on the show for the next 10 years.

So down with all you haters!

it was the timing of those claims by her "camp" that was suspect. the comment was banded about just before the three show departures were officially announced, but it ended up turning into a positive for her anyhow and she is the only remaining judge from the us first season still working on x factor apart from simon, so that has to count for something.

i assume itv didn't sign her in 2011, because nicole had already set her sights on the us show and although there were even rumours about her doing both shows simultaneously at one stage, the allure of more us exposure probably outweighed other opportunities open to her at the time.

i agree kelly may suit the us show much better and nicole has certainly become a notable part of the x factor history here in the uk.

I'm not particularly a fan of Nicole but I've got nothing against he either, but am of music and that is wonderful. I still remember seeing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE6SRBnDHx8 at the 2011 royal variety performance and my perception on her talent changed instantly.

And in reply to the OP, however long ago it was posted - The way she acts is the way many Americans act. It's very flamboyant and confident, especially if they've got something to be confident about. I find most americans are very comfortable within themselves, unlike us Brits.

she was absolutely amazing that night. i also loved the her performance of "try with me" the same night, that song works so much better with live instruments.

her performance of Don't Cry For Me Argentina on the andrew lloyd webber 40 years show was another breathtaking performance.
