I know 2 people with windows phones and they love them.

If i was getting one i'd check that the apps i wanted were available for it before taking the plunge.

You will probably get bored by windows phone too.

I like windows phones a lot, I like them for simplicity and efficiency but these are not the best qualities in a phone for someone who gets bored of apple's app store and android's endless customisation.

Maybe it's time to see your phone as a tool and find your enjoyment elsewhere rather than in your phone.

I've had a Lumia 800 for nearly two years and I love it. Very smooth and easy to use operating system. The apps situation has improved massively over the last couple of years. I have all the apps I need and workarounds for a couple of missing ones. I'm due an upgrade in the next couple of months and it will definitely be another Lumia, probably the 925.

Windows Phone is not exactly known for its bells and whistles, but maybe you'd like it because of that It's simple and minimalistic. I think there's enough apps, but it will be a problem if you are looking for an exact same app as on Android or iOS.

In addition to their well-known Firefox OS phone, ZTE also offer a budget Windows phone on their Ebay store http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-...item2a2f1bd072 and there's a review here http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pho...1078677/review.

My mum and my sister both have Windows phones and love them. They have Office subscription too which allows them to use Microsoft Office on their device. That's quite handy for them really!

I wish I could use office but there's no way I'm spending 80-90 on software.

Don't Microsoft offer something like a free Works suite for Windows phones like they have done on their PC operating systems?

I have a Windows Phone and LOVE it. I switched last year in July to a Lumia 900 and fell inlove with it straight away, I then sold it and got a Lumia 820 for WP8 in October, I then gave my 820 to my brother as I won a HTC One in a competition, although I loved the HTC One, I really began missing Windows Phone and got a Lumia 925 recently and really loving it.

You'll find everything you'll need on Windows Phone 8 from Vine, Instagram, Facebook, all the apps and games general users need, if you're a real technical user and really into geeky things maybe Android is the way for you.

Just make sure if you do go for a Windows Phone device that it is a Windows Phone 8 device as apps are more of an issue on Windows Phone 7 as many developers are now only coding for WP8, including some of Microsoft's apps like Skype.

I would recommend a Nokia Lumia 925 if you want a good device, of if you're more of a budget person maybe a Lumia 520/720/625 or a HTC 8S/8X may be for you.

Windows phones have Office already installed, you don't have to buy it seperately.

I loves WP. I lost my Lumia 820 with WP8 last weekend, so this week I have been using one of my old iPhones. Thing is, I missed my Nokia/WP so much that I bought out my contract and got a Nokia Lumia 925 this weekend. No regrets. Its a brilliant UI, so fast, crisp, smooth and fresh.

I highly recommend it to anyone.

Very happy with my 820. A few apps mising I would like to run such as BT Sport but going to get a cheap Android tablet to use as an "add-on" to deal with that. If not within range of a free wi-fi hotspot I can use the 820 Internet Sharing feature to provide it with one.

Mostly happy with my Lumia 920. The app thing isn't a big issue for me and the only issue on the app front so far has been BBC iplayer which i didn't use on Android any way.

Same with me, once you move away from Windows Phone you'll want to go back straight away!

BBC iPlayer for Windows Phone. Only compatible with Windows Phone 8 handsets, if you're a Windows Phone 7 customer you're out of luck

There is, but unfortunately it doesn't work, known issue with the 920 and needing to have it linked to an Xbox account , which i don't have. Or at least it didn't 6 weeks ago. I might try again.

There was an issue with iPlayer but AFAIK the Beeb fixed it. Whoever was banging on about Xbox accounts was leading people up the wrong tree, there's no such need.

You can use Listen Again its free from the app store, it lets you play back the BBC radio shows that have aired in the last seven days.

Works on Windows Phone 7 and 8.

I just switched over from iPhone to Windows 8 Lumia 925 and I must say its like a breath of fresh air, took me a little while to get to know the basics, but once you got past that its a breeze to use. I am still learning all the tricks etc, but I love its so far.

BTW, if you do get a Windows phone, download the UC web browser, it makes internet explorer look primitive by comparison.

It's a known issue. Works for some, not others. I'll try again in a few weeks.
