Singing a generic overused song.

I liked Tenors of Rock but I sort of agree about their lack of marketability.

Shame, they were genuinely different.

Good looking guys, I wanted to like them more than I did.

With the benefit of hindsight, they would probably have been better off doing their mash up of BrunoMars/JessieJ that they do really well

They don't exactly have the X Factor do they? Can't see where they would go or how their performances would work every week

Although I'd like to see a new rock group I don't think these guys were particularly good. They looked really dated, cheesy and unauthentic. I can imagine them doing pubs and parties but they will never be chart artists - not that that's always a bad thing

No idea why they were on this, should have been sent to BGT instead where they would have been semi-finalists at least.

You have to look at what's marketable at the moment and I can't see that in them

Can't imagine them doing anything apart from maybe singing the national anthem at a rugby match

I thought they were 6 front men rather than a group

I've seen them many times lives in front of large crowds and they go down extremely well. I have a video of one of their performances but I had to take it offline while they were in XF. |

I think they'd have made more of a show, if they were on BGT. It would have suited them far better.

I was gutted they were cut, but also not surprised at all.
With Next Of Kin failing to live up to that first audition, Tenors Of Rock were the only group I actually liked this year. The X Factor never seems to take risks like them any more. Back in the day, when acts like The Unconventionals (*shudder*) made lives, maybe, but from the moment they appeared, it was obvious they'd never get far. I agree that they should go for BGT, though. |

There's no such thing as an "overused," song.
Great songs, are and always will be, great songs. I really liked these guys, they had great harmonies, far better than the cobbled together group that replaced them.. As for the "X-Factor," well, I'm sure that the judges are really looking for the "next big boy/girl band." and the quality of the singing is secondary, in spite of what Mr Barlow says. The judges talk about "taking a risk," but in the the end, they generally play it safe. Keeping these guys on would've been taking a risk and I think people would've gone to see them sing live. They're not my cup of tea,any more than Il Divo, for example are, but I'm pretty sure they could've done well. But then, identikit boy/girl bands aren't my cup of tea either.. I want more out of a great vocal group than being able to dance a bit, each guy/girl singing one line at a time (sometimes very badly) the odd bit of harmony (again, sometimes very badly) and looking cute and gonky. No one expected G4 to do anything but they did. This lot did look dated but give tjem new clothes, haircuts and gym passes and you might have something that sells.
Thing is that the standard is much higher now than it used to be so they can stick with chart acts rarher than acts they might have to think about or actually put some effort into marketing. |

It wasn't about putting together boy/girl bands, or picking the "prettiest," boy/girl, or endless snivelling and pleas for the sympathy vote ![]() I only remember one incident of crying in the first series and one in the second.. Now, you're the exception if you don't bring tears and a sob story to the table. Rich. x |

They would have made the show MUCH more interesting. They were my favourite group by a mile. Not saying the other groups aren't good but this group was the only one I really want to hear again.

Is it any wonder that people are switching off in droves? All the acts are samey and boring, there's no one quirky or different anymore.

1. The reappearance of Sharon O, who I didn't think was that much cop as a judge, the first time round. 2. The room auditions, actually, I preferred that approach, I'd rather they didn't perform in front of an audience till the live shows. 3. This weekends, Roman Circus style bootcamp, which, left a very bad taste in my mouth..I thought it was appalling.. Heaven forbid they should come up with a concept such as going back to the idea that this should be a singing contest.. That might actually bring back a few more viewers. But, I think they're on a loser, whatever they do, maybe it's just time to put this one out to grass.. Rich. x |
