I thought that was so uncalled for and extremely unfair on the other contestants. He said something like "You can't do this to me" and almost stormed off the stage.

What makes him more entitled than any of the other acts? Completely lost all respect for him. He should've been more respectful to the other Overs. When Katie had her name mentioned, she didn't throw a hissy fit, and went out gracefully, despite being as upset as Joseph would've been.

He is has been under performing this season. Wouldn't be surprised to see him cut at judges houses that reaction didn't do him any favors.

Very unprofessional behaviour. I wasn't too keen on the way he kept bringing his son on in previous shows either.

So selfish and childish. Made the moment all about him instead of the contestant who had just made it through. Lost a lot of respect for him tonight.

I have to agree wth other posters, he did himself no favours with his reaction. I personally dont think he should have got through. He has a good rock voice but its dated.

Considering that the comments from everyone - press, fans and judges - seems to be that he's definitely not as good as last year, I really think a bit of humilty would serve him well atm.

He seems to believe all the hype he got last year - a year he didn't even make JH, I should add.

Sharon needs to seriously sort him out.

Such diva-like behaviour at this stage does not bode well....

Glad I'm not the only cruel person who wanted this .
I would've chucked him out just for making a fool of himself if I was Sharon. If thats what he's like so early on in the competition then who knows how he'll react in more serious levels of the competition.

Most of them seem freaked about returning home Is he trying to get away from his son

My only hope is that he is cruelly voted out by week 2

I liked him when he previously auditioned on the show. He then started to really annoy me this year with the constant references to his son...and that reaction has completely put me off him now. Jerk.

In contrast to that, I reluctantly have him down as my predicted winner, purely because of the 'new judge always wins' tradition (ignoring the fact that Gary and Kelly were new in 2011!) and his likely teen girl fanbase.

I loved him last year and was gutted when he was cut at bootcamp. This year I have gone right off him though, mainly due to histrionics and he thinks being a dad is something to cry about. You're hardly unique mate .... loads of blokes have sons, it's what keeps the population going.

You can't have it both ways. The shpw is based on contrived emotion. The judges demand it and the competition is designed to encourage it in both competitors and viewers. You can hardly blame someone when he gets so wound up he has a meltdown. Yes. He is a bit crap but the judges that now want to get rid are the same ones who've been grinning at him, telling him he's wonderful and cuddling his kid like hee's family. He's forgotten he's disposable and there to be used so of course it hurts. They WANT him to care. They NEED him to believe that the show is the only thing that matters.

How do you know she was "as upset"? Even if she was, different people deal with stress differently.

Spot on, this is exactly what the producers were after, people having emotional meltdowns on stage. Its exactly why this 6 chair thing was introduced. If they all took it gracefully and without fuss then there would be little point. Hell the cynic in me wonders whether he was told to react in the way he did.

he had a hissy fit last year when he didnt make it through and went to the press with claims of fix. clearly the show was not so fixed that he wouldn't darken their doorstep again, because here is back for another bite of the apple. the weekend he behaved like a child. there were other acts there in the same boat who simply sucked it up and got on with it, even though they were IMO humiliated in front of 4000 people and an audience of millions
