I'm sure he'll be back when he runs out of rice pudding...

I wonder if the dispute over who actually invented Davros is still ongoing:

And twelve months later:

A BBC spokesman said: "These proceedings are ongoing and the BBC and BBC WorldWide are defending the claim."

It seems to have gone quiet now, but perhaps this is the reason we have thus far had no more Davros. Im hoping the situation is resolved and Davros turns up in the 50th.

I amused myself one week by writing a screen play revolving around that idea. A group of peace-loving scientists, both Thal and Kaled, sick of the war between their people, steal a new military space-plane en-route from the Kaled war factories. They attempt to flee Skaro hoping to start a new, genetically and morally superior colony on a distant planet (Skaro, of course, sitting inside a galactic "dust" envelope which means they think the universe is remarkably small). They shed their Skarosian names, which have racial overtones, adopt new identities, and set off only to encounter both sabotage from within and a mysterious stranger in a blue box. Effecting a temporary repair to the crippled engines, just enough that they might limp home to Skaro, the most intelligent and ingenious Kaled scientist on board is left burnt up and practically dead by a radioactive plasma leak. But as the fingers of death seem to be closed completely, in the nick of time, the charred and disfigured body is placed in the life-supporting stasis chamber of the very medical bay he had designed; but what scars has this encounter left on his mind?
