does noone else find it confusing when theres more than one character or actor with the same name?

the example was i hate it now that theres gonna be a character called linda and she is related to shirley who is played by linda henry

there is also the actress who plays linda is called kellie..the actress who played carly has the same first name, oh and her last name is shirley too (that was confusing lol) kellie bright is apparently rachels bright sister. now rachels leaving lol

now when we talk about either linda it will be more confusing. surely cant be the only one who gets confused by this?

Just use the character names, or just abbreviate LH (Linda Henry) etc

I don't see the point you're trying to make tbh.

Of course it's unlikely to happen in real life, none of us are played by actors.

there were sometimes two or more Emma's. god now that was confusing espicially cos we were so young

i have a similar name to my brother and it gets confusing when hes home now my brother has a similar name to my other brothers fiance.

this is partly why its annoying they couldnt come up with another name. they must have known it would be bloody confusing

i wonder if actors get confused if they have their own name in the script. (you know what i mean)

So what are they supposed to do? Only employ actors who don't have the same name as anyone else?
Actors must get used to hearing their own name, they probably know a few people with the same name, don't see why it would be confusing.

If you want to mention a particular actor who has the same name as a character just use their full name e.g. Linda Henry instead of just Linda (which might be confusing for other folk anyway as most of us don't tend to call actors by only their first names as if we know them all personally - or at least I don't )

You take it in context though don't you? Even if posters don't use full names, you can tell by what they're saying if it's the actor or character they're talking about. Most posters do use full names for the actors anyway, unless like me they talk about a particular actor a lot, the actor has a very distinctive name, or the name's being repeated as part of a conversation.

Emmerdale's got Dominic Power (Cameron), Dominic Brunt (Paddy)and a character called Dom - I've never known so many Dominics in one small place

Plus the actresses who play Debbie, Laurel & Val are all "Charlottes" or variations thereof

So they are! Both Dominic and Charlotte are quite uncommon names nowadays as well. Unless one of the women is Charlene, but even with that two Charley/Charlies must be quite unusual (no jokes please).

Ah, turns out Charlie Hardwick changed her name from "Claire", so it really is a case of two Charley/Charlies!
