Why were we only shown a few seconds of this brilliant singer at bootcamp? She had good reviews from the judges at her auditions but was not put through. I guess she did'nt have a hard luck story to tell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqle5yHDjGo

She most probably didn't get through as she couldn't provide anything different. I am going to try and put this in the most respectful way as possible to avoid offending anyone, But this years X factor seems to have so many R'n'B / Urban / Soul Belters, that if it had any more then it may as well be renamed The MOBO Factor.

All music based competitions need that little thing called variety, otherwise it gets boring if they have the same type of singing style. Which is why with the X factor you get so many styles of singing, some have enjoyed continued success & some have been dropped from their record label like a bad penny.

It wouldn't be so bad if a couple of contestants entered the competition as the new Fugees, the likes of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean & Pras are legends & they made such a brilliant unique calibration, or if you had some decent rappers that enter the competition, not just ones that put in lame lines of rap into once loved songs. But to have the same old belters in the competition just bores the living hell out of me.

If the rumoured final 12 are correct esp with all of Sharon's acts being belters, then that would mean that 6-7 acts out of the 12 in the lives, would have the same belty loud voice. We have enough of them for this year.

It seems to me that they rarely bothered to feature artists in the auditions who they knew weren't going to get through.

They probably edited the audition shows after they already knew who was in the final 24 and focused primarily on the ones who would finally make it.

I found it fairly predictable that if any one got given a seat who I hadn't seen perform before or who we only saw a snippet of their final song, it was pretty certain they weren't going to make it.
