EastEnders: My only concern
Is that there has been too many new faces that have joined the show (with more on their way) and we still have seen very little of Sadie and Jake. Plus the Hartman's and Carl still feel very new and undeveloped. I hate characters being rammed down our throats without them having pace, so I just hope that DTC actually has concrete plans and storylines for these new characters, otherwise it will backfire a lot!
Also, does anybody know whenever we will be getting an interview from DTC? |

Hes disappeared I hope Danny takes all of Janine's money and flees! I hate the new sophisticated rich Janine and it would be killing two birds with one stone - as it would get rid of him! |

With the Carters being brought in later in the year I'm hoping Sadie and Jake will be more developed between then and now

Well Carl and the Hartman's have already been axed. I don't mind Danny following them (but not with Janine's money).

What DTC is doing is nothing new. Most execs bring in a number of characters that take the show into the next era. Santer gave us the Masoods, Christian, the Mitchell Sisters, Archie, Danielle, Kym Fox, Lucas Fox.
Don't forget, we are losing 9 characters. Therefore there is a hole that needs to be filled. I understand that we havent seen much of Sadie and Jake but I get his approach. Its a gradual introduction into the show rather them having them smack bang in the middle of the drama. The audience needs to care for them first. I'm confident we'll see more of them but there are alot of changes happening at elstree at the minute and certain characters are being put on a back burner before they know exactly how they're going to develope them. A cast turnover is not uncommon when a new exec arrives, especially if a number of characters are already on thier way. |

I agree, Sadie hasnt been given any storyline and Jake bores me when he is with Lauren making awkward conversations
I think its feels like EE is being completely changed in terms of characters due to the cull and the amount of new characters brought it, however new characters doesnt neccesarily means big explosive storylines Look at Carl and Sam, and they have just been axed |

There's no point DTC developing Kirsty, Carl, Poppy and The Hartmans so hopefully he'll develop Sadie and Jake if LN didn't do it in her work.

True the character development recently has been poor. I don't give two rats asses about Jake as we don't know much about him same with Sadie. The Hartman's sl seems to be all over the place too.

I remember thinking that Ava's character is a slow burner and the fact that she depended on other characters storylines like Sam and Bianca and Liam, just made her a pathetic supporting character. I hope they dont do the same with Sadie and Jake etc

Sadie and Jake, on the other hand, are fresh faces with no ties. Therefore it makes me think that they have an actual arc. The jury is still out on the pair though. How DTC plans to develope them between now and next year should tell us more. |

Ava, although a Hartman, was really just another Branning. It was all about ramming that family down our throats. I don't believe for a second Ava was bought into the show because she had a purpose.

Who thinks David Wicks will have an affair with Sadie?
I'm so glad he's back, he was always one of the best characters on the show. |

In LN's defense, the character of Ava probably looked good on paper - long lost daughter of Cora, a difficult life, moves to the Square leading to the introduction of two more characters, she just hasn't worked well on screen, neither has Dexter or Sam.

Ava has nothing to do with the Brannings. She was just brought in an attempt to build a new family. A family that flopped after 5 minutes.
I don't think the arrival of Sam helped them. |

She's Tanya's sister, Cora's mother. I understand that still doesn't make her a Branning but she still remains well connected to them. She's "family'.

I'm pretty sure Sadie will be revealed as Jake's estranged wife just as Lauren and him go public with their relationship.
