When asked the follow-up question if a developer could really create something for Windows 8 and get it running on Xbox One using almost the same code, Isogai responded, “Yeah, almost the same code.”
Basically it seems from what they are saying it is easy to get any game running on Win8 (Metro interface) to run on X1.

I guess this is part of MS idea of just one app store to cover all devices.

Nice idea, just a shame that the games on Win8 store are 99% trash.

Now, if they could get SNES8X working........

This will certainly play a crucial role in Microsoft's upcoming Indie program.

This is one of the things that makes the XBox One interesting to me. And not just for games. You'll be able to snap the apps over TV, too.

For example, I should think it could make a for a great fitness app. Use Kinect to monitor your effort and progress, with the video feed to keep you entertained. One problem with fitness games is that you really want to listen to your own music not the game soundtrack.

Yep me too, I'm actually very excited for the multitasking capabilities. Not sure whether to plug my 360 into it or the PC.

Dreamcast could do this too.

Not windows 8 games obviously. But there was talk of the conversion time between Windows and a dreamcast of being mere hours.
