humax remote clash?

I have advertised my Humax HDR HD freesat box for sale locally and have kept it on display so i can demo to potential buyers.
Have bought a DTRT-1000 freeview box and surprisingly when i turn over the freeview box the freesat box turns over to the same channel, so i can only presume that they use the identical remote.

Is there anyway of changing this so that remotes operate separately, once i sell the freesat box it wont be an issue - have even tried unplugging the HDMI lead but that has no affect.

Not entirely sure what the HDMI lead has to do with the remote control?

Anyway...

As usual Humax are a bit 'strange' - being able to change the remote code is a VERY useful feature (for if you have two identical boxes), but then Humax go and spoil it by sending out all of their products set to use the identical codes (Freesat, Freeview, PVR and non-PVR) - and even worse, don't even document the remote change in the instructions.

It depends what you enter into Google (or your search engine of choice)

If you enter "humax remote codes" or the like you'll likely end up with loads of hits for entering codes into the remote to control other kit or codes for universal remotes to control Humax kit.

I had seen a link similar to the one I posted, if not the same one, in other threads on DS, but couldn't remember it. But if you know to google "changing humax remote frequency" it is about hit number one.

The remote control for the DTR T1000 and T1010 cannot be remapped to work with a code set other than number 1. I believe this is a YouView specific problem as Humax are dependent on YV for the user interface software as I understand their two < free time > boxes can do this even though they have a similar remote.

not sure whats happening - did the remote change and all works fine, so can use them independently, which is as well as my wife now decides she wants to keep the freesat or she will miss dexter ahhhhh - no problem really.

Found a strange issue though, as i have a sony bravia tv and home cinema etc i normally push the home button which brings a screen up to change the hdmi port BUT If i have switched to HDMI 1 where the new freeview box is I cannot use the home button - although the tv light is flashing as if its bringing up the screen it doesn't so the only way round is to push any channel button on the TV which takes it to an analogue channel then when on that push the home which brings up the screen and i can change the port.

When im on HDMI port 2 on the freesat box all works ok - its like the freeview box is hanging on to the HDMI port - does this make sense to anyone, if so is there a fix?
