After a sensational 80’s themed opener to The X Factor's live shows, tonight sees the first heart-breaking elimination.
*
In tonight’s show the tension in the studio is palpable as host, Dermot O'Leary, tells the remaining acts *who is safe and who has scored *the lowest number of votes.
*
The two acts will have to fight for survival - they must sing to try and secure their place in the competition as one act must leave tonight.
*
Throughout the Live Shows an outstanding line-up of guest stars will perform. This week we will see musical performances from the legendary Cher and the award winning Ellie Goulding.

Weird timing to have Ellie on, since Burn is getting old now and I don't see another single scheduled. Cher I guess will do that ballady one they're playing on Radio 2 at the moment rather than Woman's World.

My thoughts exactly

Plus it ties in with the 80's theme.

While Cher is way before me, and I'm not a personal fan, she's bound to create some excitement. I know she's quite iconic. Hopefully her singing translates well in the ratings

I like how they're balancing it out. They've got probably the most current British female on board, and then someone who will appeal to the older demographics. Everyone's a winner.

Cher?

I just did a little squeal, I'd been banging on for ages about how she'd be on but I was always kind of kidding myself.

Calling Cher Lloyd legendary is like calling Justin Bieber the great singer in the world

You know the difference between Cher Lloyd and Cher don't you?

One is legendary, one not so much.

You shall have your Cher medley, unfortunately for us viewers it will be performed by the finalists, in the typical cheesy finalists song.

Cowell wouldn't want them to be seen as the best group on the show. They have the looks & voices, something which the groups in the lives haven't got.

Exactly, they don't make them like they use to. I would be very surprised if any of the X factor winners will still be making records in 20 years time, let alone 50.

The Saturdays were ignored because to get on the show you have to be a major star or an X Factor contestant. They are neither. Cher has just scored her best opening for an album in the US and Ellie Goulding has had one of the biggest singles of the year and an international hit. Then you have The Saturdays whose last single missed the top 10 and the new one is likely to join it.

The Saturdays are more Xtra Factor worthy than X Factor.

The Saturdays got ignored in 2008 (when they had a 300K selling single out), 2009 (when they had another 300K selling single out), 2010 (when they had another 300K single out) and 2011 (when they'd just had their sixth top ten single in a row) and now 2013 (the year they had a #1 and were the fastest selling single of the year at one point).

A reason to tune in and watch X Factor if Cher is going to be performing now that is a legend to watch.

Must admit , I thought it was Cher Lloyd , mainly because her new single will be released in the UK at the same time . But I love The CHER legend . Ellie should be promoting Burn in the US , it needs a push right now .
