The best Christmas song of the 21st Century?
Unfortunately the great Christmas song is a thing of the past, and great modern Christmas songs are far and few between. However, there are a food good ones from the 21st Century hanging around.
For me, The Darkness' 'Christmas Time' is head and shoulders above the rest, and stands well when put alongside the classics from the 70s and 80s. What is your favourite(s)? |

I quite like George Michael's recent Christmas Song December Song. It really should have been a bigger hit than it was. Of course it could never have been as classic as Last Christmas but I thought it was the best shot at a new Christmas song in recent years.

I really like Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message) by Dragonette.
I heard it driving back home for Christmas break last year from uni, when Graham Norton played it on his radio show. Really put me in the mood! |

I know the answer to this one, OP. It's, 'The Ghost of Christmas' by Manic Street Preachers, isn't it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrCHcp8Z0lU

I think Sara Bareilles has done a beautiful Christmas song called Love Is Christmas, she really captured the true meaning of Christmas.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSKGt4vjSxU Also, her duet with Ingrid Winter Song is also great, but is not completely Cristmasy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=budTp-4BGM0 I also quite like Michael Buble's Cold December Night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y06oH7nS6Mw |
