There is a good chance that this song may have been done in the mid 1990's, but if it was, I never once heard the song until it was placed on a various artist Christmas compilation album that was released in 2001 named No Wrapping Required. The name of the song is "What Do You See?" from bluegrass singer Sonya Isaacs and to me, it is the best Christmas song of the 21st century and one of my most favorite Christmas songs period.

George Michael - December Song.
One of the very few fantastic things he's created recently. I love this song. |

2003 was such a great year and last true Christmas chart battle. We all know what came the following year and forever more.
At the time I loved The Darkness and really wanted that to be #1 but in recent times really like 'Mad World' so both were great. I also like Kate Winslet 'What If' from A Christmas Carol film and the video of clips is kind of Christmas like. |

![]() I'll just add two fun classics: Lumberhorn '18 wheels to Bethlehem' from 2008 (completely bonkers vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PmGZ8spowE, and Bob Dylan's 'Must be Santa' - ancient song but his version released in 2009 |

Candidates for best album?
Try Naturally 7 - 'Christmas - It's A Love Story' from 2004, criminally neglected accapella soul album that's up there with the best Christmas albums of all time. Very different from the usual lazy pap too. St Agnes Fountain - '12 Acoustic Carols', now ridiculously long deleted. Their 'Deck the Halls' is possibly the best soul single a folk-based band has ever recorded. Actually, ANY of the 12 albums by St Agnes Fountain would do (there's a double best of cd). And it's worth moving heaven and earth to catch their legendary annual Christmas mini-tour. Good grief, only 80 days to go

Even if all the proceeds supposedly go to charity, The Killers releasing a song EVERY ****ing Christmas in the hope that one of them makes it big is just so desperate.
They've don't nothing worthwhile after Mr. Brightside but everyone still wanks themselves silly over them. |
