I need some help because I watched a film about 10 years ago stoned off my face and I laughed so much I cried, I would really love to watch that film again. I know its a long shot but here goes...

It was on television around Christmas night or New Years night 2003/4, early morning'ish. I can't remember which channel but I'm sure it had adverts in it.

It was set in New York and was going around various people, like interviewing them, they were speaking to the camera. I remember a guy (kinda like the unwashed scientist guy out of Independence day) talking behind his shop counter, he had really long folded arms...

It was a comedy.....

Help!!!!

The unwashed scientist guy from Independence Day is Jeff Goldblum. If it's him, then I suggest you have a look here for films made in 2000 and prior (provided it was ITV or Channel 4 you watched it on)

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000156/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

Nothing is jumping out on there for me and what you describe.

If that doesn't narrow it down, try here: http://ukchristmastv.weebly.com/

I don't think this has New Year's Day TV schedules, but it covers Christmas Day for both 2003 and 2004 on multiple channels.

Thanks Lathamite for the suggestions. especially ukchristmastv.... But it must be New Years then because I can't find it in there. Its definitely around 2003/4 it was on because I was living in my first flat and Jeff Goldblum wasn't in it. I was thinking off the other scientist in Independence day who gets strangled by the alien.

Do you mean Brent Spiner? The scientist who gets jumped and controlled by the alien in the containment chamber?

Nope none of them but thanks for the suggestions, All I remember of the film is a guy with long folded arms talking to the camera, I guess it would be the middle of the film, it was defiantly set in New York.

I remember commenting to another stoned friend he had 'lovely arms' (before I come out as gay) and being laughed at. (I lived in a rough pit village)

Was it a recent film at the time? Or did it look older?

I suppose it looked like Little Shop of Horrors, same sort of camera work but not set in the 50s, more like 80s.

You say this guy had strange long arms then mention being stoned. Do you not think this might be linked? You were probably watching Open all hours.

Or Clerks.
