Ipod Mini
Hi.
I have just got a Mini Ipod and wish to use it on my PC (Not just my Mac, most of my music is on PC). I do not have USB 2.0 or Firewire on my PC. In the booklet provided it states that it is not compatible with USB 1.1, my question is: "Has any one got an iPod and used it with USB 1.1 and if so, how long did the formatting process take via USB 1.1." Cheers Mike |

My wifes iPod mini works fine on USB1.1 (although I plan to stick a USB2.0 card in an empty PCI slot anyway).
Setting it up didn't take that long. Transferring the songs did .... well over an hour for about 3gb worth. But, the mian thing, it works just fine. |

Yeah, I've never seen a usb 2 device which wasn't backwards compatible with usb 1.1 (although I wouldn't put it past Apple
).I'm sure you know already but stick a £10 usb 2 card in your PC and it'll transfer 30-40 times quicker....which is nice .
