I'm wondering that if she get's through, she might not pull of a good enough performance as the theme is 80's.
I do like Tamera, but I'm worried for her.

Whitney Houston had a fair few 80's hits...it'd be safe and predictable but in the early stages, most acts will play it safe.

'Move Closer' by Phyllis Nelson would be a great one for her :

I think there are a lot of songs she can do from the 80s.....
Saving All My Love - Whitney
Love Comes Down - Evelyn Champagne King
Forget Me Nots - Patrice Rushen (possibly)
Girlfriend - Pebbles
Superwoman - Karyn White
Dreamin' - Vanessa Williams
My Temptation - Mica Paris

Eurostar mentioned Phylis Nelson's Move Closer was I agree with as well.

there are so many from that decade she can do

A slightly modernized, hip hop/r&b style beat underscored but stripped back version of the Eurythmics-Who's That Girl would be pretty amazing for her, I think.

I have the perfect song.

I came up with an acoustic ,r&b arrangement of an 80s song that would be perfect for her.

If anyone cares to hear what I mean , go here:

http://www.gigmasters.com/AcousticBand/AmyandRichMusic/

and go to media/audio/showmore. ..Track 16 is a cover of George Michael's Careless Whisper. It's still a work in progress, unlike the rest of the more polished tracks on there, so ignore the flaws and imagine Tamera singing it in a slightly higher key.

(not self promoting, since my duo is based in America and most reading are in the uk, so unlikely to book me )
