What's Cool Whip
I see lots is US recipes with cool whip, any one know what the UK equivalent is?

I don't know what it is. But I do know that Ocado sell it in their American Groceries section.

It's like faux mayo and not the US version of dream topping as i learnt at the expense of a cooking disaster.
No, ignore me I'm thinking of Miracle Whip. Cool whip is the dream topping-like stuff I think. |

Cool Whip is a fake whipped cream that is stored in the freezer. It is highly processed and I don't think there's much cream in it at all. It has an odd 'fake' taste but is used in lots of 'quick and easy' pudding recipes.
I don't think you can substitute fresh whipped cream for Cool Whip as Cool Whip is much more 'set'. There are some suggestions online for creating substitutes for use in recipes if you Google 'Cool Whip substitute'. |
