She's got a great voice but that audition was 'I know I've made it, I can't be arsed'. It was distinctly meh.

She has the best voice of the overs, but I have to agree with the above posters who said her performance tonight was meh. She oversang in places, and the song suits a "pretty" liquid note producing voice, not a bluesy toned voice like hers. Lorna outdid her tonight. Regardless, the fact is...the above quoted comment is ugly . |

A matter of opinion, and I disagree.

LOL, I groaned when the music started - if you don't like people doing this song, whatever you do, don't watch X Factor USA, I must have heard it a million times over the last couple of weeks

Sam has a much better voice than Shelley. Size and age shouldn't come into it. I think it was a mistake to put Shelley through - she really is a pub singer.
But it always will - that's the superficial nature of the industry. A fat 65 year old with an incredible voice is almost certainly likely to sell less records than a 'fit' 18 year old lad/girl who has a mediocre voice but can be moulded into a certain image. I'm not saying it's right - but that's how it is. Sadly, Shelly doesn't have the voice or the look; she's quite good fun - but so is my Auntie Joan - and she's got as much chance of winning The XFactor as Shelly - and she's not even in it ![]() Sam has the voice - but again - IMHO she hasn't got a hope in hell of winning the show. Wrong demographic and not young/pretty enough. |

She's better than Tesco Mary and Shelly but not by a long way and last night's offering was kinda average.
She'll be around for 4-6 weeks on the lives I reckon but that's only because of the weak competition this year. |
