X Factor 20 | Top 20 Reveal Show

Good evening and welcome to The X Factor 20 contestant reveal show.

Two weeks ago, four of our judges found out what categories they would be mentoring over the entire series. Last year’s runner-up Steve (Soppyfan) will take charge of the Groups, returning judge Spanner (Spanner82) will mentor the Girls, our first newbie Naruto (NarutoFan100) will aim to take an Over 25 to victory while Mitch (Pothuthic) will cast an eye over the Boys. They will also be joined by Nick (winter99) who will serve as an unbiased judge.

Tonight, our judges will decide which five acts they will each take through to the live shows. Like last season, the X Factor 20 line up will consist of acts that have made it through to judge’s houses from the current UK edition. They will also be able to pick acts who made it through to the Four Chair-Challenge on The X Factor USA.

Nope, you are able to chose from the 10 who competed in the Four-Chair Challenge as this is his season's judges houses and two category final fours haven't been revealed.

Lillie Mcloud - Lillie, you have an amazing soulful voice plus the determination and passion to go far in this competition. With the right mentoring, which is what i can give, you are a contender for the title this series!

Rachel Potter - Rachel, you had an amazing first audition. You are talented and such a strong voice that is suited to country. You are in my top five, congratulations.

Giles because he is a brilliant fun entertainer and reminds me of a little Robbie Williams because of how energetic he is and is looking forward to working with him.

Nicholas because he feels he has a fantastic voice and is somebody he is looking forward to working with throughout the competition and feels he can get the best out of him.

Sam because he feels he is the complete package and is somebody who he has followed throughout his career prior to The X Factor and knows exactly what he wants to do with him.

Chase because he has a fantastic voice and a brilliant style that he is interested in developing.

Isaac because he has something about him that interests him and is looking forward to helping develop him as an artist.

So; Mitch has chosen Giles, Nicholas, Sam, Chase and Isaac.

Spanner! Could you please reveal the five acts you are taking through to the live shows and why?

Spanner doesn't appear to be online and Steve has already informed me that he will reveal his acts after he has finished hosting.

So, I will now reveal the first live show's theme.

Hey everybody, I'm here now!

One moment while I choose my groups!

OK, I'll wait until after Steve has revealed his groups.

Steve seems to have gone offline so I will reveal the theme for the first live show now.

The theme for this week is SONGS OF THE YEAR

Basically, any song that has charted within the top fourty in the UK singles chart in 2013 is available to be sung by a contestant on the first live show. The theme’s will start off simple but as we go on, they will get more difficult and staging and costume may be introduced.

Also, I would like all song choices in on MONDAY by 7pm. If song choices are not sent in; each act who I don’t have a song for will receive a five point voting penalty. I would like the song choices in by Monday so I can send a running order out so you can prepare your comments (as we have a lot of acts to get through). Also, you won’t be scoring acts this series. However, you will provide a judges vote of the acts who aren’t in your category. If you fail to do so, each of your acts will face a six point penalty. If you are unable to be present for a show, you must send me your comments and votes before the show.

I can also exclusively reveal that the first live show will see FOUR contestants eliminated from the competition so your acts better be on their ‘A’ game.

Sorry for the long wait Connor, it was actually a lot harder than I thought, but here we are, I hope you all respect my choices:

Kingsland - When I got this category, this group was the first one to come into my head. We need a groovy-ish style group and these boys are gonna tear it up!

XYRA - Could possibly be the best girl group I've mentored since Little Mix on The Twist Factor. Their harmonies are terrific but I will work hard on their solo parts.

Brick City - The only mixed group in the line up and I have a really great feeling about this one. They give me a lot of ideas that I can work with.

Girls United - This trio could be the USA's answer to the Sugababes and they all do look the part. But rest assured, they'll NEVER touch a sugababes song.

Wild Thingz - I love this duo! The singing voice and the rapping together makes this a truly unique act that I'm looking forward to mentoring.

So there you go, a very strong category or what?

What a nice theme as well...but worried about that twist!

No worries Steve. Great choices by you all. Now were just waiting for Spanner's choice then I shall post a full list.

Just finished researching the group members names, because I love posting lyrics just to give people an idea of who's singing which part.

I don't tend to listen to recent music so this will be a bit of a struggle. Fingers crossed we get a nostalgia-related theme in the future.

Would i be able to offer a suggestion on judging? It is totally up to Connor if he wants to use it or not, but the idea i had in mind was rating the contestants performance out of 10 and writing a short comment. This wouldn't have any effect on the voting, but i just thought writing 20 comments and listening to 20 performances might take a long time, and this could save time as well for the first live show.
Soppyfan
04-10-2013
That would be ideal for the first show but I've been able to comment on 16 performances on a few games before.
ElectricBoy171
04-10-2013
I can do that if all judges agree. I obviously won't include it in the voting after last season's debacles but I will use this idea if you all want it.

If not, you can just write one line comments anyway.

If you have any ideas for the show or themes you would possibly like to see, feel free to post them.
Soppyfan

I have a few that you can borrow from my games.

I think it would be a great challenge for us all if you go with a nostalgia-related theme.

I've just sent off my choices, along with sing-off songs and I advise the other judges to do the same just in case any of their acts appear in the sing off.

Just sorted out the lyrics so you can get an idea of who sings which part.

Yes, that does mean more work for me, but I love doing it.
