Looks like another songwriter is also involved

Dave Gibson ‏@Gibson_
SONGWRITER FOR MAJOR 3RD/BMG CHRYSALIS.. FRONTMAN FOR THE EMPIRE

Big ol' week ahead -- starting tomorrow with @DanDare and @LukeFriendMusic #HITS

I wonder since Luke is working with a BMG Chrysalis songwriter if he has signed with them also.
That guy David Gibson is the lead singer of band called The Empire and their music is pretty much rock/indie rock. https://soundcloud.com/JoinTheEmpire

That's good to know that he's working with someone doing the same type music he likes.

I wonder if by saying 'Big o ' week ahead' it means that Luke is to be introduced to them? I'm glad they are taking some thought over putting him with him with the right people and not rushing things.

Maybe it won't be long till there is an official announcement. You could be right over BMG Chrysallis

Just looked at The Empire's Facebook page and their genre is 'Indie Rock and Roll' (can't do link, I'm on an iPad)

Also see if he gets the biggest cheers (as in the final)

Thanks for the vids guys!

Looks like Luke is in London today songwriting, I'm so excited to hear which label he's signed to. I mean songwriting with people who have worked with rather obscure artists and are pretty niche themselves...do they sound like people Sony would introduce Luke to? I'm not so sure

A rather none committal tweet

Luke Friend ‏@LukeFriendMusic 8h
Going to London to do some awesomely interesting "bits and bobs" #Friendies

But taken with the Dave Gibson tweet, is he being introduced to his song writing team...

I guess we'll have to be patient

Here's a Video someone posted the link to on Twitter from their Facebook. It's quite interesting he talks about why he didn't sing any originals at his Kremlin gig. He also talks about writing this week with some cool people.

he is so cute in the videos!I like what he said about not playing his own songs because of the sound quality not being good and him wanting his own songs to sound good.

I love how chilled out he is, like he totally doesn't mind that there's a girl there taking a video of him lmao.

Yeh I loved what he said about the originals, he's so right - nightclubs usually have poor sound quality (cause of the screaming) - he probably would prefer a more intimate gig to perform his originals

I've just been browsing the old threads and came across this:

Facebook 'likes':

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1901657

Week 2 he was quite down the list.

So decided to see where Luke is now:

He's well in the lead with 251k likes

Second is Sam C with 154,914

I remember seeign that thread when it was posted and i literally thought Luke would be eliminated early on the show. I'm so happy for him that he gained SO many new fans and i feel proud that i believed him from the beginning

I'm excited about his new possible music, what genre are people thinking it will be?

Dave Gibsons facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/jointheempire/info

It says genre: indie rock and roll, so I guess they will be aiming the for the same with Luke

Dan Dare tweeted this:

I think in the main, Indie/Indie rock. His voice naturally has a rock edge, but his style on his original material is more Indie.
I think you can have a style but still take that to its edges. The first album may have a few tracks slightly more commercial to transition from XF. He always stressed on the show that he stayed true to himself and so if that did extend to his song choices, such as Let Her Go/Kiss From a Rose might suggest thar he might be happy with some near mainstream stuff as well.

I'm not worried about that - a professional producer will work with different kinds of artists. We've already found that Dave Gibson is indie/rock, so they are putting Luke with the kind of writers that will suit him

I dont feel great about it ,I am not a UJ fan at all but then saying that both their singles went top 10 so it might be ok.Hopefully Luke will have a lot of input into the songs and the writing of them.He seems excited about so fingers crossed it goes well.

Hi everyone,

How are you all? Good to be back. Missed you!

I've been following the threads during my sabbatical but didn't have the energy to participate. Anyway, I'm still sore in places but less concussed and feeling a lot better.

It's all getting rather exciting isn't it...hopefully, we'll hear some news soon about which label Luke'll be signing to.

Liz xx

He seems very sure of the kind of songs he wants to do, so I'm sure if he wasn't happy he'd say so

He seems excited at the way things are going

Welcome back Liz

Glad you are on the mend

Thanks Patti-Ann.

I kind of feel that you and I are "partners in crime" as we are of similar ages I think.

Seems like all is coming together for Luke; as you say he seems very happy about the way things are going.
