It's probably because people don't want to see one of their most famous songs altered in any way. Luke put his own stamp on it and if people can't appreciate a different version then fine!

I think he was b2 cause of the performance slot and safe comments. I think most people thought his performance was brilliant as he has the second highest "likes" on youtube for Your Song and his number of likes atm will reach the level of Kiss from the rose and Play that funky music

I think it was the classic "Background video" that got him into the bottom two . They seem to be more distracting than anything. The song was alright, but nothing compared to Play That Funky Music and Kiss from a Rose. Both which also included excellent stage performances.


I also hope we see his guitar this week. If the sing off told us anything he is way more comfortable and passionate when he has that.

According to some people on twitter, Louis stated how he wanted Nicholas to win on Radio1 in front of Luke , his Nicholas favouritism is just annoying now. Well I don't want Luke to win but I wonder how Luke must be feeling knowing he'll always be his mentor's number 2!

Louis angry at Sam C for picking his own song. Luke picks his own songs so maybe it's ego because Louis picks all of Nicks songs.

I'd be happy to just see Luke get to the final. He'd be better finishing second or third - look how well other runners up have done.

I don't see why Louis is favoring Nicholas... I guess he is just looking short term as opposed to actually making one of his acts successful.

Anyone can see there is nothing to Nicholas and he will never sell records. Luke will and is marketable... however like so many that went before him isn't Syco compatible... however I guess what is Syco compatible seeing at they have very little success stories with the majority of acts

Wow. Not really sure what to think about this! On the one hand I'm glad it's an uptempo number, but on the other hand I despise 1D! But I'm also really relieved it's not a JA song.

Im not a big fan of ID but i knew someone HAD to do ID and it happened to be Luke, i spose that will get their fans voting for him. I doubt Luke will do a straight up cover though

I'm so disappointed with his song...If he's trying to wow everyone he is not going to do it with this song!!! The only good thing I could think of is if he has his guitar and plays a slow acoustic version of it

This is better than last week's choice, but by how much? It could be a square-peg-in-a-round-hole moment if he doesn't strike the balance between maintaining his own style and catering to the audience who would probably prefer a bubblegum pop version.

Luke's very articulate and answered the questions very well. Also, Louis's remark wasn't very bad; he was asked who he'd pick to win if it will be an all-Boy final two. The series of questions for Louis where he can't abstain was VERY FUNNY, though.
