Yes it is good he went last night.He got to the final and to perform at Wembley but doesn't have to put up with all the crap that goes with having to go head to head with Sam .

I'm glad Sam won, I think that will be easier for Luke than seeing Nicholas win

Louis saying on xtra factor that he if had to manage one of his acts then it will be Luke as he's different, original and will definitely have a career . Finally he's realised how Luke was ALWAYS the best boy!!

It was revealed on xtra factor that he came 3rd 4 times which is actually really good considering the top two were Sam & Nick the whole way through!

A real up and down ride really, fluctuating between three sing off's and four third place placings (does that include the Final?)

Voting percentages have been revealed. Luke came very close to making it through to Sunday final!

3 things to note
1) He was near the bottom weeks 1 + 2, in week 2 he was 3rd bottom, and in week 3 he climbed to 3rd. If he hadn't delivered Kiss from a rose in week 3 then he would've been out!!!

2) He was 2% behind Nicky and WAY ahead of RC in the semi finals. Imagine if he got eliminated in the semis? that would've been SO unfair!

3) He was SO close to Nicky in the final, so so close. Though I'm happy he finished 3rd

Reading those voting statistics, Luke did brilliantly. He gained more support than anyone else as the series went on, and he was so close behind Nick and Sam towards the end.

It was Nicky's blubbing that kept him out the bottom 2 that week. I knew it would Luke was miles better than Nicky that night.

Regarding point 2, I remember someone on the main forum who was commenting on the semi final results, said that maybe the judges were told to take it to deadlock, because otherwise it would look like they had shoehorned RC into the final, when the voting percentages came out! Looks like there may have been some truth in that now. And perhaps if RC read the percentages their massive egos might be deflated a bit. (I doubt it though.)

I'm happy with those percentages. The fact that Saturday's percentages were so close shows that Luke fully deserved his place in the final. He wasn't 'final fodder' or left in the dust at all. He was right up there as a contender. It's good to know, and for everyone else to know

Good result all round for Luke .It shows how much support he gained as the weeks went on.It was so close in the final as well!which is great,I would have hated if there had been a big gap.

Also I am so happy he was higher then Sam C week 6,so no one can ever say he was bottom!

Exactly!It's evident that Nicky hadn't gained any support throughout which is the complete opposite for Luke. Can you imagine if Luke had been pimped pre-lives like Nicky then he probably would've won or finished 2nd!

Also whenever Luke was in the b2 - he was closer to the person above him than the person that finished bottom. Tamera only got 8% when they were in the b2 together and RC only got 15% in the semis. He deserved to go through in all his B2 appearances

And may I say well done to all the Luke fans. Conducted yourselves very graciously on DS throughout the whole competition. A very nice & polite bunch of people. It's been great supporting our boy with you guys

I agree wholeheartedly! We've had our fair share of run ins with a few forum members (I know I have!) but have remained composed and polite. Well done everyone! I hope we all remain on his appreciation thread to support him during the tour and then for his upcoming album (which will happen!!).

Luke came close to beating Nicky at the two times it mattered most. 2% between them in both the final and semi final.

Yes Wembley 9th March, can't wait to see Luke! I only bought the tickets today cause I realised he wouldn't appear on my screen again for a long time
