She's too good not to be! Just a natural - funny, zany and doesn't seem to worry too much about the autocue, which is fine because she's a great ad libber! Tonight I thought she did brilliantly, relaxed and at ease with the Celebs and dancers, yet slick and professional. I absolutely love her!

Absolutely - and she interlinks well with Tess, who is SSSSOOOO much more relaxed without the Dreadful Old Gaffer messing up the set and hogging the camera.

Actually that is a very good point - Tess was much more natural and amusing than normal!
If there's no place for Caudia on the main show what about her hosting ITT...
Yes, it was a good example of girl power. Tess seemed almost human - rather than having to produce an unconvincing rictus smile every time Bruce spoke.
Who knows maybe next season we can have a few same sex celeb/pro pairings as well....

Tess verged on being competent tonight and Claud was, as ever, sublime. These two should divvy up the show between them every week.
I've found Claudia a bit irritating in the past but she was good tonight. I wouldn't mind her staying permanently if she continues like this. I thnk she is more naturally witty than Tess. The showed flowed well tonight and Tess did a good job.

Claudia is definitely more natural when she talks to the contestants than Tess. She's so much better at ad-libbing and doesn't do the awful "Craig said...." And then make some awful pun.

I originally read that as "I would prefer her to be both Bruce and Tess." and thought "Yes! Can we clone her and give her both jobs?"
I love Claudia! You can tell all the celebs and pros love her too. They have so much more fun when she's up there with them. 
The show was much better tonight. Two women doing live TV, one at the top of her game and Tess not too far behind. To be fair most weeks Tess probably spends a lot of time worrying that Bruce won't fall over or go into full on gaga mode, and in doing so probably doesn't come across too well.
I much prefer Claud in the Tesspit. She is a natural, with just a card for reference if she needs it. Tess on the other hand clutches her cue cards like they are her oxygen. She also panics if anyone goes off message and gets that deer in the headlights look.
This is a great partnership and one that should continue if Bruce packs it in. Unless Julian Clary is offered the job of course !

Julian? I don't mind him - but as we've now actually witnessed a wonderful, workable pairing, there's no longer a need to speculate replacements, as we already have the answer right here!

Tess needs a script and Claudia doesn't, which is why they work so well together this way round.
The intros etc need to be handled efficiently and to script, the after dance interviews need to be short & snappy.

It went really smoothly last night, kept to time and if I were a producer I would be looking to keeping this pairing and phasing out Bruce as soon as possible. apparently he had negotiated 3 weeks off this year. So with this one and he fully another weeks recovery time we could have as many as 5 weeks out of the 12 Brucie's free and then they can see that really the show is vastly improved without him
I'd love to see Claudia on the main show every week, she is fabulous. But I still maintain we need Brucie, for that bit of spark. On a week when there's a lot to get through, Tess' blandess is kind of mopped up a bit but she is dull. I'd love to see two women presenting a big show like this full time but I think that as the number of couples diminishes and there's more time to talk to the pairings immediately after the dances and with the judges, we need someone with more personality. Tess still sounds like she's reading out loud, even when she's just saying 'fabulous'. Is there anyway all three could do it?

The contracts for this year have been negotiated but Brucie has fallen ill and will be back when he’s feeling better.
There would be no need for the BBC to negotiate that he should have three weeks off if it didn’t work for the show but I love all the hot air DS generates as gospel almost as much as the show.
I just don't get the Claudia love at all. I cringe every time she's on. I would rather have Zoe presenting with the wonderful Tess if Bruce can't make it again.
I'm not a Claudia fan either. I don't like cute or dizzy. It isn't an image I would aspire to, and therefore I don't admire it in other women, especially once they've passed 30.
