I like his modesty (the cocky gits annoy me) & his vulnerability is appealing, he may not be gorgeous but I would not call him ugly at all; most importantly he is a very good singer.

He was WAY better than Nick. Quite frankly it's ridiculous he's making it through.

10000% agree with this.

I don't think weight was the issue.

I only just started watching last week. Is Paul the big guy, but not the biggest one? If so, Iagree. He has an amzing voice. So disappointed.

i don't think it was either. I think it was more about the personality (I still don't agree with it).

Giles didn't get through did he? He was a cute guy who the teen girls would have gone gaga over. I'm really confused why people are bringing size/appearance into this when Giles was sent home/Nick was sent through?

As they keep saying, "We're looking for a pop star". In other words a young fit lad so the girls will buy their records. The over 25s are just padding for the show.

He should go back next year maybe next year he'd make it.

Has he tried The Voice, if not he should. I know a lot of people don't like it much but both times they have actually picked someone for their voice and not their looks. He's not bad looking anyway and I'm sure his personality would come out with more confidence. Lets hope he gets a wild card if they have one as he's certainly the best male voice they had. It's just madness to drop him.

I would have put him through instead of Luke. Gutted that he didn't get through.

We aren't all teen girls who want to scream over some young lad, some of us want to hear a nice voice.

So much for it being a singing competition. Its a young kids looks and fashion show.”

Its not and never has been a singing competition. Its a Saturday night entertainment show first and foremost.

Really says it all about the show really. When a dodgy haircut gets you through, over a fantastic voice. Walsh wouldn't know talent if it bit him on the arse.

I think Wikipedia would disagree with you. Look under the x factor.

I agree with almost all of these posts, ridiculous that he didn't get through. Was probably my all round favorite this year.

I think Paul will be a wildcard if they have them. IMO Louis called it right. It was obvious who the bottom 2 were and that Nicholas is the outstanding boy singer. Paul is a strong singer but he's like Mary Byrne - all his songs sound the same and he would only cannibalise Nicholas's votes. The other 2 boys look like pop stars. What they look like, their age and their personalities and stories are the key to who goes furthest. I don't think Paul has any chance of even getting into the top 8 whereas all the other boys do.

Like so many others, I was amazed that Paul didn’t get through to the live shows. He was certainly, out and away, the best vocalist in his category and losing him diminishes the show. Having said that, I’m in no way surprised at Louis’ decision. It’s such a pity that so many talented people these days are relying on programs like the X Factor to make it in the music industry. Listening to the excruciating “back stories” and all the weeping and wailing, usually from kids who have their whole lives ahead of them, at times makes the X Factor a pure joke, at the expense of rather vulnerable people. I appreciate that it’s presented purely as an “entertainment” show and used to enjoy watching it as a light diversion from “real life” but, after so many years of the same old formulaic nonsense, it’s simply become an irritant.

I've posted on another thread that Bluey from Incognito has posted on the bands FB page that he wants Paul to contact him. Let's hope he does get in touch and something comes of it

I agree, though, that dropping Paul is one of the most ludicrous X Factor decisions for a while.”

Exactly, being over weight isn't the issue and he is actually quite cute IMO and I loved his self deprecatory personality. He was like a breath of fresh air amongst all those drama queens.

However, as much as I like him I wasn't too fazed he wasn't picked as it became certain there is going to be a 4th choice from the public in some way or form. It seems kind of obvious what with Paul not being picked and Sharon failing to pick Joseph.

I certainly hope so anyway.

I don't think we have heard the last of Paul on the Xfactor.
This is the way it was planned.

Louie clearly wants to criteria to the pre teen vote unfortunately.

I think everyone was surprised that Louis even put the fat guys in his final 6 rather than 6 hot guys so they were lucky to get that far. No-one would have voted for them anyway.

Nicholas actually has a better tone and, for now, technique, but Paul is very good, and definitely should be through to the live shows over the rest .

In a way, though, I am hoping he was one of the few non-industry-affiliated auditionees who made it on raw talent, and, because he truly has it, can develop as a performer, smooth out the rough edges on his singing technique, and return like Alex did , with similar results., as one of the promoted ones they build/cast the rest of the top 12 around.
