I will give it a go as I liked Kaye. I don't like Colleen so thats a bit of a worry but hopefully it will be o.k. Would be nice to see Nadia back over Colleen.
I really think that Coleen will be better this time round.
I'm inclined to believe she was sucked into the slipstream of Denise & Carol and had no option but to go along with all the hooting and arf-arf-aren't-we-funny-gals being tossed around. Yes, I know, grown woman should know better etc, but we all tend to go with the flow in company and she could hardly get up and walk out.....although in the end she did just that.....so hopefully she has matured, exorcised all her 'Shane done me wrong ' demons and is ready for a sensible phase with just a bit of fun thrown in occasionally rather than the bitchfest it has deteriorated into.

Caught part of yesterday's episode by chance. First LW seen in about 2-3 years. Apart from shock of studio in HD, the big wtf was Sherrie's face . Barely recognisable. I assume she's had another facelift and pillow cheeks by the look of it.

I am amazed Coleen is back as she criticised Loose Women in various newspaper articles, said they were not really friends etc. Surprised as I thought she saw a lot of Denise privately. Often mentioned being at Denise's home etc. Fed up with their stories of drunken nights, not remembering what they did last night etc and their never ending hate of men. Hope, just once they can discuss a serious Topic, not already discussed to death on Daybreak, Lorraine etc. Often they seem to choose the same Topics. Basically Loosewomen is a Panel to advertise outcoming books, movies and TV Shows with the wonderful competition flashed infront of our eyes every five minutes. Hardly ever watch anymore.

Wouldn't it be marvelous if the new Producer banned mention of ex-husbands, boyfriends etc. How often have we heard about Shane, Mark, Mr Spain and Denise's new husband, never mind Jane going on about her mother and her boyfriend. Why can't they discuss important matters, so much is going on in the world and the only Panel of women on TV discuss boyfriends and drunken nights, sex. God Help Us!!

Denise has went up in my estimation a bit now- if it wasn't for her son Matt noticing a New Zealand medical soap (did they move to Granada at the time it was telecast in the Home and Away 5.10pm slot?) And it did return as a schedule filler in summer 2002 in the Granada-owned regions, ironically the year Auf Wiedersehen Pet returned this time on the BBC-whereas normally they had something Storm Force or some travel show as a filler- was Granada telling us something?) we kids in the Tyne Tees region would've never have seen it at all back in the mid-1990's, and we would've probably got the Galloping Gourmet instead.

Matt was the epitome of cool long before 2013, and we Geordies got Angela Bloomfield (herself and her soap a legend like his band).

Coleens opinions are as basic as an 8 year olds, she shouldn't be on there.

Did you know she has big boobs and was married to Shane? I cant be doing with her. She hasn't got a clue.

She's also just admitted that she was a bitch last time round to the others (so some others have left). Waste of space.

I hadn't watched Loose Women in ages but tuned in on Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised. It was much more like the original programme that I used to love - no actresses showing off, or ex soap stars banging on about their failed marriages and new boyfriends, or panelists shouting and talking over each other, or the presenter pushing in and trying to be one of the panel. Hopefully it will continue to improve with Kay Adams' return.

I noticed Kaye's original co-presenter Nadia Sawalha making a reappearance as well.

A return to more topical discussions of current stories and events would be an improvement, before it descended into a bunch of harpies revealing more than they needed to about their affairs, drink binges and failed marriages. Denise Welch was just a mess.

All it did was confirm the stereotypical perception that many people have of screechy, partially inebriated women sitting around a table complaining about men. Don't any of them have a view on anything else?!

She's not a very nice person and not fair to her daughter and family either.

Loose Women is such an offensively bad programme I don't think anything can save it.

I wish we had a show more like The View or The Talk in place of it. Why is ITV so insistent at being as down market as possible when it comes to their daytime output? It's depressing, and in 2013 people should be more enlightened and accept it isn't just the unemployable who are at home in the day.

ITV is downmarket. The past decade has seen a significant downturn. How the hell was it voted 'channel of the year'??!

It is now only a few steps away from ITV2. You at least expect trash on ITV2 and not watch it, but ITV should be providing for a higher market.

I do think Denise, although it was due to her and Matthew that Shortland Street was picked up by Tyne Tees in the Nineties which I will give them credit for, kicked off (along with my mother and other parents in various ITV regions- some of us were allowed to watch Prisoner) the trend of racy material like Shortland Street (featuring storylines like STD's, HIV,, murder and adultery) being accepted for the kiddies in daytime (leading to watching more racy stuff)which now leads to the likes of Britney, Miley and Rhianna being slutty in music videos shown in the day, and Annie Lennox in the news.

Let me get this right....you blame Denise Welch (and Matthew, not sure who he is) for Shortland Street getting broadcast. You liked SS but that is the cause of Britney, Miley, Rhianna being all slutty in daytime videos
Your theory amuses me, I don't think I ever saw SS

I think you have a bit of a thing for Shortland Street.

Call me thick, but exactly what does it have to do with Loose Women?

Denise and Matthew of course (who's Matthew you may ask)
I want to know when Denise was in charge of Tynes TV programming

It was in reference to Denise Welch, who was a former member of Loose Women. And someone had mentioned she was a mess.

True, but even after reading through the thread I still don't see the connection with LW or Denise Welch.

ITV is downmarket.
It's improved a lot in terms of the drama output in the last couple of years though, and has The Chase on in the evenings which I like. If only they stopped pandering to the lowest common denominator during the day. Jeremy Kyle, This Morning, and Loose Women ALL need to go.

I'm really glad Nadia and Coleen are back - can't say that I was ever keen on Kay Adams - always came across as a bit bossy and smug to me.
