[Game] The Mix Factor 4: Live Show #7
I know there's like 3 other games going on at the moment, but this is The Mix Factor and I am confident we'll slay tonight.
Ahem, I'm getting ahead of myself again. A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away ), your top 9 sang songs from their home countries. The result were both good and bad, as some acts impressed while others let down. In the end, Karoline survived her second consecutive week in the bottom 2, at the expense of fellow girls category member Melissa Heiduk...As if that wasn't bad enough for the girls category, their mentor Kevin also departed the panel. Fortunately, I have managed to get the amazing Roxie to take his place. Today, the top 8 will perform songs having to do with food. There's much at stake, considering we have a double elimination to look forward to later tonight. Once the lines have closed, the act with the fewest votes will leave the competition immediately, while the next two lowest-ranked acts will have to prove their worth in the sing-off. It's not going to be easy, only the best of the best tonight are guaranteed a spot in next week's show... With that out of the way, please welcome the judges and the top 8 to the stage! I couldn't be bothered to find a food-based intro song, so you'll have to do with a lazy one that captures the epicness of tonight's show I guess: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4t4LgV0iIc _NiallDEE_ and the groups Alien Beat Club Fifth Harmony Orpheus fireemblemcraze and the girls Bella Ferraro Milou van Egmond Karoline pingu58011 and the last of the over 25s Anna Wilson Soppyfan and the last of the boys Raphael Herrerias Judges, could you please confirm your presence? |

I am here and I'm actually quite happy and excited about tonight.

All right, I have no idea where Roxie is but Niall mentioned that he was fairly busy earlier.
Anyway, let's just kick things off regardless. Singing a song called Chocolate by the popular band Snow Patrol, it's Raphael Herrerias ladies and gentlemen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR9ko67DejU |

Raphael
This song takes quite a bit to start and quite a bit to get going but I think whilst it does it's pretty good and it's different from the other stuff you've done which have been mostly guitar/acoustic based. I don't think it was anything particularly special, and will it be enough to get you past the double tonight? I don't know, but a pretty good performance overall. |

Raphael
As a song I really enjoyed it. Great song. Great band. Yay Snow Patrol! I think that suited your range very well Raphael - especially the higher bits in the chorus. It was a really good, energetic performance which kept me interested throughout. I do however think you’re lacking some sort of direction at the moment. |

Raphael Herrerias
Raphael my boy, I actually feel quite proud to see you opening the show. We had a song that we were going to do, but we then advised against it and went for an alternative which was this song and I gotta say, I feel so happy that we changed it. For the first time, you got to sing a great song with an up-tempo performance. You certainly rocked it in my eyes and I feel so blessed to be working with you. What a way to open the show, I'm proud of you.

Raphael last show you were predicted to go, but you didn`t and that is very good. But in my opinion tonight was not the best for you. It was very predictable for you, and it didn`t suit your vocals very well. Sorry but I am very dissapointed and it was not a good start to the show. Instead of progressing I think you are getting worse, and I am sorry but it`s a double and I can`t see you avoiding the bottom 3!! |

Mixed comments for Raphael to begin with, could tonight become a deja vu for his mentor Soppyfan?
Next up, we have our youngest contestant. Singing Apples by Kate Martin, it's the immensely talented Milou van Egmond! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PimW7V6AEXk |

Milou
It was definitely going to be hard for you with lots of disruption with a new mentor, but from this song it seems like it will be a pretty seamless move. I think this song and Kate Martin suit you really well, and it was once again a brilliant performance. Well done! |

Milou
Hi honey! Now from what I gathered Kevin was trying to go in an indie pop sort of direction with you and I think this song choice suited what Uncle had in mind. And I think you suit folk equally as well so I went for a perfect blend of both. It’s a great song, full of drama, nice solid beat with a good solid vocal. I wanted to expose more of that higher end quirky girly vocal you had and it worked for that. The vocal had a really nice relaxing feeling to it too…perfect for eating apples. |

Milou van Egmond
Well Milou, you have a new mentor who I'm sure can be a force to be reckoned with. However, I wasn't particularly a fan of this song choice, it didn't really fit your voice and it wasn't exactly what you've done so far. I really like you as a person and you have been a great act in some shows, but you really haven't shone as a top favorite. So I have a feeling that you'll be in trouble tonight I'm afraid, Milou.

Milou your mentor abandoned you and I was slightly worried for you as you are one of my favourites, but your new mentor hasn`t disappointed me. Roxie that was a very good choice and I think you really understand Milou. She is quirky, and her vocals are just brilliant. You have been one of the frontrunners from the beginning, and you still are tonight. I cannot see you leaving tonight! |

Great comments for Milou except for Steve's comments, whose side will the public take tonight?
Over to the groups and with that a whole other genre of music. Doing something different this week, it's Orpheus singing Animal by Miike Snow everyone! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ok0glLJsr4 Note: All the meat that people eat is taken from animals. |

Orpheus
When the song began, I was confused and wondering what your mentor was up to and as the song progressed, I was actually struggling to enjoy the song. In other words boys, I wasn't feeling that song choice and I felt that it was way beyond on what your strengths are. You've been on a bumpy road so far, however tonight was not your best and I think you could be in trouble again.

Orpheus
You’re a lovely band with terrible harmonies from what I hear. This is a great song. You’ve all got fairly expressive R&B vocals. Did the song match those vocals? I think it did really well! The verses were spot on (I could imagine the guy in the afro singing those bits) and though it went slightly high for you in the chorus – those harmonies were nice. Overall I loved it - <3 you guys, especially the guy with the afro. |

Orpheus
Boys I thought that you just gave a decent performance, but that was all. It felt very old school, and it wasn`t very standout. I thought it suited you quite well, but I was just a little bored. I know it is a hard theme so I will let you off, but I am slightly worried for you. Next week I would actually like a slow song of some sort that really shows off your voices. Overall an okay job boys!! |

Orpheus
This is kind of different to what I usually pick for you as whilst Miike Snow has a pretty soulful vibe to his voice, this isn't as soul based as what I usually pick for you. People have been asking for you to do something different however, and I think this is really the perfect song for you as I actually think it suits your voices really well and also has loads of opportunities for harmonising. Another brilliant performance and I definitely think you deserve to get through with that! |

Okay comments for Orpheus tonight, is that going to be enough for them to pull through and reach the top 6?
The next act is going to sing us a song called Days of Wine by Hannah Scott. An interesting title of course, one that fits our resident quirky girl Bella Ferraro down to a T. However, can the same be said about the song choice itself? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGzUPOautRw |

Bella Ferraro
Well despite the title of the song, at last! I was beginning to wonder if I was going to see one disappointing performance after another, but no, this was fantastic. The others may get on their high horse about the song itself but for me, I'm gonna let that slide because it suited you so well and I loved your performance. There are eight acts left but I can see you in the Final, props to you Bella and Roxie!

I think this song really suits you vocally Bella, and it definitely makes me feel that your mentor has the potential to keep you in the same standard as before, as you were doing really well. I did find the song a little dull so maybe not my favourite choice for you ever, but a good performance overall! |

Bella
Bella I have been disappointed by your performances for weeks now, but Roxie has just brought it back for you. It certainly wasn`t the best for you, but it is the first time I have enjoyed your performance for weeks and weeks. I thought it was very beautiful, and it suited your voice quite well. Parts didn`t suit you, but most did, and I am very happy with Roxie so far tonight!! |

Honey doll! It was so difficult to find food related songs for you but I think we prevailed. That was stunning Bella! I think Hannah’s fruity tone is really suitable for you, especially those slight quirks at the end of all her sentences – and ESPECIALLY that chorus. When you reach for those high notes your tones matched exactly! It’s so wonderful and so addictive to listen to you. I have to confess that I wasn’t the biggest fan of you on XF Oz (ahem Angel Tupai c’mon…and Shiane) but I think you still sound wonderful! Go Bella! |

So after a string of mixed comments for the previous three acts, Bella is the first one to get unanimous praise from the judges. Did the public like it as much or could we be in for a shocker tonight?
After that lovely slow song it's time for some uptempo fun again. The act perhaps most qualified to bring you exactly that is of course Fifth Harmony, so here they are singing Lionheart by Lolene! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo-2jhREm7Q Note: It is possible to eat Lion! Some people eat hearts of certain animals as well. |

Fifth Harmony
Yes people eat hearts especially lion ones and you showed them why today girls. Great, flowery song which suits your genre. The only problem is that the girls’ tones don’t quite match? The vocal that I thought sounds like Dinah suddenly went all Bella Ferraro and then the one that sounds like Aly’s slightly deeper one suddenly squealed out like Dami Im, and don’t get me started on who that was at the end. But I do think it’s a nice song and I’m just nit-picking – sorry Niall. Just maybe a vocal which sounds slightly more generic would be suitable? |
