I hope people get behind them
Did we need the old JLS?

All this presumption that the world required JLS and now that they are gone, we have to have a replacement for them.

All this 'music is life and death' can only mean you are still very young.

Good news! You do grow out of it.

He doesn't have a criminal conviction... He's applied for Indefinite Leave To Remain in the UK and if he leaves the country before he gets it then he might not be allowed back into the UK. Once his IRL is sorted then he (and the band) are free to travel wherever they want to.

I love Rough Copy, they are miles better than JLS to me.
I get the impression it's more likely an immigration issue, to be honest.
Whats the criminal conviction?
http://tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv/the...of-the-us.html
In 2006, he was given a reprimand for common assault, while in 2007 he was sentenced to 250 hours of community service for affray.

The singer, who also has a caution for possession of cannabis, told the newspaper: “I haven’t been an angel in the past.
Sounds like a lovely chap.

I think it was obvious when he was stopped again this year it wasn't any sort of temporary issue, he's very unlikely to ever get a Visa to the US with those convictions on his record

I think they are better vocalists than JLS and they are more like B2K than JLS IMO

Why are people always labelled "the new...". Don't we want something different to what's been before? Though to be fair the xfactor does churn out the same things year after year. They always have the belter, male eye candy, young cute one, quirky/hippy one, boyband, girlband, novelty, and so on.
Well said, but they aren't even coy about admitting it.

One of Mr Walsh's (many) cliches, is "you could be the next......insert artist of choice......"

There's nowt wrong with any artist admitting their influences, it's part of what makes pop/rock history, everyone without exception stands on the shoulders of those who have gone before them....

But, I think comparisons with earlier acts/artists, are, in the end pointless.

That's what I read - hence my earlier comments. If you do crime you have to put up with the consequences and if it means you cannot enter certain countries then it's your own stupid fault.

I think they're the best act and a breath of fresh air but they won't win because they don't appeal to he teeny boppers, mums, nans etc, etc.

Don't be suprised if Nicohlas wins the show!!

I hadn't read the above article, but now I have I stand corrected - I was going off what was said when they pulled out last year.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/x...h-copy-1266906

Last night Kazeem, 23, who was born in Nigeria but lives in South London along with fellow band members Sterling Ramsay, 24 and Joseph Thomas, 25, said: “We are gutted that we have had to leave the competition as we were having such a great time.

“Hopefully, if everything is OK with my visa, we can apply again next year.”

Kazeem recently submitted an application for leave to remain in the UK which is currently being considered by the UK Border Agency.

But he left it too late to travel to the judges’ houses – which are all abroad – and was told he would not be allowed to re-enter the country.
I don't get why they applied again if the issue was conviction related, unless they were hoping judges houses would be in the UK (or in a country where convictions don't matter) as it sometimes has been in the past.

I a huge JLS fan but I actually think Rough Copy are better but can't see them winning as they're too urban/street and don't appeal to the One Direction teen boppers/mums/nans etc, etc.

Hope they get record deal even if they don't win.

Unfortunately, he does have some criminal convictions as he admits in an interview with a newspaper!!

At first, I thought may be B2K but looking at them again reminds me of Jagged Edge - no they are not like JLS

I don't get the hype to be honest, I found them quite dull. The other trio who had all the moves were much better. I was really surprised Rough Copy made it through.

No, they are very different and I am not sure that Rough Copy will make it to the finals.

This years dark horse act imo I just hope the public get them. They are something fresh that the live shows need.

I wouldn't say they are fresh because they are pretty similar to R+B boybands like Shai, Jagged Edge, Next and even Mint Condition and I can see them doing tracks from Jodeci as well.

The other thing I want to add is my concern for them doing different kinds of music on live shows when they are clearly an R+B group - I mean can we really see this group doing heavy metal/rock? I'm not saying it's impossible but it'll probably be outside their comfort zone.

Hardly crimes of the century, except maybe affray but if he got community service it cant be that bad. This is the real world and people deserve second chances. Plenty of US rappers have done far worse.

He could still have work visa problems, but he could easily bypass the visa waiver program if it was a holiday with such convictions.
