With both Irish girls being put one ( the Glengormley one deserved it ) I was seething that the X Factor didnt even give them the courtesy of showing them telling their families that they didnt get through.

Also, one also cant forget that X Factor bosses didnt thing it was necessary to have auditions in Belfats, Dublin or Cork. Singers all had to travel to UK auditions putting them at a disadvantage.

I get the distinct feeling that X Factor has turned anti Irish , wheter it be North or South.

The wee dublin girl deserved to go through, better than Jade who I will forecast will croak it, in that her voice will give out.

Tamera will win it at a canter and the joke act will be dog rough city and the guy who has a fasination with groping his own crotch.

But no a single Irish contestant ...boooooooooo

Give over. You've had Eggnog and Jedward in the lives and both were crap.

Do you mean Hannah, seeing as Jade didn't get through herself?

Melanie doesn't have the X Factor. That indescribable something that makes you interested in a contestant and want to watch them. Andrea wasn't great either.

Louis is from Dublin and been asked back every year, so you have to see your post for the nonsense that it is.

Melanie wasn't that great, More Theatre than X Factor to prim and proper and came across very desperate,

If she didn't get the message before I hope she does now. Don't do the X Factor

Also, Dermot is half-Irish, and he presents the thing.

The show should be about the best talent going through, not token representatives of different places going through to appease viewers from those places. That's basically positive discrimination, but discrimination none the less. This show is fake enough without that bullshit becoming a factor.

Agreed. Unfortunately people with an absurd idea of what national pride means don't see it that way.

How nasty and ignorant.

Really, I hate racist stereotyping and sly comments based on it.
Also, Dermot is half-Irish, and he presents the thing.
Both Dermots parents are Irish.

Agreed. Unfortunately people with an absurd idea of what national pride means don't see it that way.
There ya go Op, all these quote proves a point, I could not understand the ridiculous dislike and spite showered on
Melanie but its obvious now. You dont like her style of singing fair enough but the OTT dislike
But I think Melanie just was not their cup of tea and nothing to do with her origins. BTW Tesco Mary was forgotten in that list and Tabby and Janet Devlin and those boring
sisters.
If people can stop gloating and winding up Melanie fans, it will blow over and we can move on. Everyone here would be similarly disappointed if their fav had been dropped, show some empathy because your time will come in the lives, when your act is eliminated.
