I am shocked she got put out over Abi. It seems very strange, a lot of the expected producers favourites from the edit this year haven't made it through judges houses - Paul, Joseph and Melanie!

Paul is the only genuine travesty this year. He was genuinely the best singer in the entire competition. I'm still amazed he didn't get through.

Yes, I would have been less bothered if an obvious makeweight like Luke hadn't got through. Every week the panel is going to go on about Luke's weak vocals. What a joke!!

It was very different..

In 2008, she literally was shown in about a 10 second clip and most of that was Cheryl and Simon bickering.

In 2011, she was shown only in montages. No story, no full performances, just brief clips all the way, including at JH.

Last year, her audition got good airtime but she went AWOL at Boot Camp apart from a brief clip in the groups number, and then she was shown going home.

This year she probably got the most airtime out of everyone. Both of her auditions got big airtime, lots of story and that followed through into Boot Camp and tonight in JH..

I feel peeved and let down, especially as they so fanfared Melanie's return at the beginning. Ironically, I think I preferred the 3 girls who nearly made it to any of the ones Nicole chose in the end. Oh well, it means I shall have more free time at the weekends than usual this Autumn.

I agree, Paul should have got through, but maybe why he hadn't was because he could have gone far, and the producers wanted someone else to do that, so Paul had to go.

Building up the story for greater impact when they don't put her through. A lot of airtime doesn't necessarily mean its all going to work out - it being her fourth try was camera-worthy, but not enough to take her through.

Now hopefully everyone can forget Melanie.

The whole thing is just a joke imo. Melanie should have got through, they clearly don't know talent when they see it.

Why? The word mediocre was invented for her. She shouldn't have got this far, it's cruel to give someone such false hope when they don't have anything special.

Really and Shelley is good enough I suppose or some of those sappy boys. soppy Abby is good enough Rylan and his fellow joke acts were good enough.

Melanie was awful and came across desperate her fans are showing themselves up slating the acts who got put through.

Hope she doesn't audition ever again. She had her chances and blew them four times.

Look at my post above, those acts are not even mediocre and swit swoo they were and are on the live show. Most of the acts that went home are better than the ones in the final.

Oh I don't like most of the acts but you can see why the producers put them through, not for music reasons but for "telly" reasons. Melanie was forgettable and would have been out straight away.

This should be called Joke factor.

Melanie should have been through end of.

Abi aside, comparing contestants from other categories, and even years, doesn't much support that point. They were never any threat to Melanie getting through.
