Melanie doesn't have IT whatever IT is. She is a lovely girl with a beautiful singing voice but she is not a pop star. There is nothing interesting or aspirational about her. She doesn't shock and you don't love her.
She should maybe think about a career in musicals where it is pretty much all about the voice. There is no shame in that.

It seems they cynically and spitefully shafted her to create a "dramatic" moment at Judges House. They practically told her she was going through to the live shows at her first two auditions.

No she was not, even Nicole said she had a great voice and the best range of all the girls. Why slate good singers, Paul was excellent and went home. over poorer singers.
While the likes of poor singer Shelley stayed.
She did come across a bit desperate but so did Hanna with her sob stories and tears on cue..They are only young girls, leave them be. I don't understand the hate for this poor girl, I really don't its nasty and unfair.

Irrelevant comment really. The answer is "it doesn't matter because it would never have been Melanie, ever". X Factor does throw up a success now and again, but they were right not to put Melanie though, she doesn't have what it takes.

Instead we have Abbysmal atrocious the SuPollard lookalike and soundalike.

What about the posters who continue to slate Melanie despite her being out of the competition now? They're the ones who are truly showing themselves up.

If you're eliminating her in favour of three potential pop stars, I'd say it's the right decision, but if Nicole's three girls flop on the show (entirely possible) the decision becomes questionable.....she surely has as much right to compete as anyone else.

I think there was no doubt that it was very cruel what they did to Melanie, but surely she is savvy enough to realise that this show is a bear pit. The producers on this have a very dark side. Get involved at your peril.

I agree but these are very young people and all they see is having a music career. Its easy to manipulate them.
Xfactor is about good Tv and ratings not singing, almost all the winners have flopped, that says it all.

She's going to wear thin quite quickly but is infinitely more interesting than Luna.

It's not silly to me. What the producers have done to her is literally horrific IMO.

And then watching some do these posters literally frig themselves with excitement at watching her get sent home, is pretty shocking.

Even if I didn't like a contestant, I'd not be excited and posting over and over about how happy I am because they've been sent home. And then post over and over calling those who are upset saddos etc.

Melanie and Paul were not shown going home to tell their news(rejected) looks like they are two of this years wildcards.

I agree, while she was performing I said she had a fantastic voice and hitting the notes seemed so effortless to her but I didn't feel like she was a star, there is something missing and I guess it's that extra bit of star quality that the x factor is all about. There is no denying she has a fantastic voice and you're probably spot on that she should consider musicals, I think she would be more suited to that.
She has now tried 4 times, there is a reason why it hasn't worked out for her.
I do feel bad for her because the show has been edited this year to make it seem like this is her year and this is the moment all her 4 years of trying have led to. Jade never got anywhere near the coverage Melanie did this year which made me think it would come down to the two of them and Melanie would go through over Jade. I think the 3 girls who did get through are much more likely to do well both in the competition and in the music industry so I think Nicole made the right decisions.

I don't think they're having wild cards this year. Last year they announced them in Judges Houses episode and the voting opened so they could announce the wild card winner on the first live show. I think Melanie and Paul probably just opted out of being shown going home.

I understand you're disappointed, but please have some perspective. Its not "literally horrific", take a look at what's going on in the real world for horror.

I don't agree re Melanie being forgettable - she was the only one that stayed in my mind. Looked beautiful & sounded great.
Sob stories are the only way to get through it seems.
