Firstly I cannot fault Melanie's singing she is pretty much perfect and unfortunately that is the fundamental problem.

Her great ability to sing songs perfectly actually puts her at a disadvantage because she then does not become distinctive enough and lacks emotion within her voice or behind the lyrics as such.

I also think it is hard to put her into a category of what type of singer she is with the other girls Tamera is the RnB popstar Hannah brings the soul.

Abi is more subtle approach and slow style of songs.

However I do feel maybe Relley should have got through (instead of Abi) If judges houses actually had any purpose because she was the best of the girls on the night.

I don't think her voice is "perfect", but I do find her lacking in emotion and passion when she sings. Just IMO.

totally agree that Relley should have got through over Abi . Melanie, although quite good, doesn't have the x factor

Melanie did not deserve to go through just because she was back for the 4th time.

She wasn't that great against the other girls in my opinion and lacked any star quality. Nice enough person though

I thought she wasn't that great tonight and it's something I keep saying - she is lacking something and got bored with her performance yet again!!
So yes it was actually the correct decision by Nicole in not putting her through - just my opinion

She's a good singer but just short of star quality. She's hard to fault but has nothing unique about her. There's are thousands of good fingers but only a handful of stars - Melanie isn't a star however much she wants to be.

Interesting then how she's trending on Twitter much higher than the three "stars" Nicole put through.....

She was incredibly dull.

Because people will be talking about the "shock" of her falling short for the fourth time. It will have all died down in a couple of days.

She could easily have gone further on the show than the three who went through....I can imagine them all flopping in the voting as the series hots up (for various reasons)

I prefer Melanie to Hannah.

I like Melanie and think she seems like a lovely girl but if there's ever a case of a good singer who just lacks that spark of something brilliant (ie the " X factor") then it's Melanie. She'd have been a safe pair of hands each week whereas Hannah and tamera both offer potential to be brilliant or implode; that makes them the right choice for the live shows.

I like Abby. I also like Melanie, but it seems people cannot make bad comments about Melanie, yet Melanie fans are making awful comments about Ai. It works both ways.

She's probably of won the show had she gone through.

Her downfall was Nicole getting the girls, the moment that happened she was eliminated before she'd even performed. That's simply the way the show goes. Had it been any of the other judges and she'd be singing on the lives without a shadow of a doubt.

How can you possibly guess that?
