Just stop it. We know it "means everything to you" and that it's your "life".

That is all.

I'm skipping Judges Houses completely next year. Don't think I could stomach anymore of this vomit-inducing wailing.

Its what the OP feels and enjoys other bits of the program not just the sobbing, how about you practice what you preach hey? (if its not clear that means not reading the threads you don't like.)

I am also disliking the sobs, they should enjoy singing so much it matters so much that brings them joy not misery!

And yes we know it means everything to you but please keep the snot at bay a bit, they all look like a they have the weight of the world on their young shoulders.

Also the judges do make them more emotional by asking them leading questions, like ''what does this means to you'', ''give it all like your life depends on it'' hey they know full well where the question is leading to and of course they know what its going to ensue...

I blame the Producers. They just haven't got a clue any more. It doesn't make good TV.

I rarely watch the show now and it's partly due to the constant crying/emoting from the contestants but mainly due to the shrieking howling audience that means you NEVER get to hear the opening to any of the live songs, effectively drowning out if they are any good or not at the beginning of a lyric.
Producers deciding that this was necessary ruined the show for me a long time ago

Judges houses is by far and away the worst for crying. It can be a little toe-curling at times to hear these acts quitting their jobs to live the dream - a dream that most of them won't live. Failing on a reality TV show is not the be-all and end-all. If it is, then there's a problem.

Me too but if Hannah's anything to go by I will have to give the auditions a miss too. What is wrong with that girl I've been to Croydon and it's really not that bad.

I was beginning to think that they're being ironic this year as every single contestant wailed at the idea of having to return home. If it ever had any resonance which I'm not sure it did it definitely doesn't any more.

They need to have a complete change of direction next year. The whole thing is becoming unwatchable other than to get a laugh when one of these ridiculous desperados gets a knock back or is that just me

It's getting a bit ridiculous. I'm sure it wasn't this bad five years ago, Yes there were tears but not to this extreme surely.

Giving up their jobs? Before they know they've got through to the live shows? Why? Please..someone tell me ...why?
What they seem to be forgetting that most people who are successful in the industry have had to work their way up..without the help of being given the chance to be on X Factor, (which often doesn't do them any good anyway as most of X Factor contestants disappear, never to be heard of again ). It's like the contestants nowadays are just 'lazy' and if they don't get a shortcut to the good life they're just 'not playing'.
Good grief, they haven't got some deadly incurable disease and will die if they don't get chosen to be 'saved'...jeez Just get back to your bliddy job or the dole, like the rest of the human race, get rid of the sense of self entitlement and the feeling of thinking you deserve to make it to the top just because you 'want ' it and think you are best thing since sliced bread. Keep up with the music and mebbye...mebbye.. if your very very very very very very lucky you might make it... but probably errr.. 'not '. But that's life sunshine.

Couldn't agree more.... Put me right off Hannah and Joseph the tears and breakdowns!! Both are good singers but can't bear either of them as its cringeworthy watching!

It's Dermot I feel sorry for. His shirt must be rock hard with dried snot at the end of each day. Still, he does well to keep his face straight. I couldn't.

But...it means everything to them. You know, like, this is their lives. They want it so much. Some of them are doing it for their children, and they just can't go back, you know? [Softly] Sorry *wipes away tears* I just really hope they get a yes. They just can't go back to their day jobs.

I think as soon as a teardrop reaches the cheekbone of any contestant, that should result in an instant elimination.

Last one standing wins the record deal.

'Stop snivelling. And NO you can't jump the queue because you've been on 'X Factor'.
You've had a free holiday and I want to see proof that you haven't been working whilst you've been in New York/Antigua/Los Angeles. ...NO I won't phone Simon Cowell. Do you think I'm your bliddy secretary?
Phone 'im yourself and ask for a letter stating you earned no money whilst you've been swanning around .
NO your old boss won't take you back, because you told him to stuff his job as you were about to become a pop star and live the high life.
And yes.. you do have to fill in all these forms..

(Nice to be back in the real world eh?)

Strange that no one sang Cry Me a River this year though they nearly all acted it out.
