I agree, I'm all for the occasional bit of genuine emotion but there wasn't a dry eye in the house tonight and it was pathetic, it doesn't even make good TV, it just gets boring after a while.

It's quite clear to me that regardless of how they sing at Judges houses, the decision has been made by the producers from the start. The histrionics of the contestants tonight were particularly bad, this programme is on it's way out methinks......

loving your rants Beetlejuice

The girl that got me was the one who said she didnt really bother in school as she new she was going to be a pop star when she went on to say how she had been very naughty when she was younger , take in to account she is only 16 now. well the more I wanted her off my telly

I did have to laugh at Louis and his reality TV rejects, we loved torturing Appleton and whats her face in the jungle ... and dont get me started on Mrs oh god shes back again Osbourne reinventing another all girl category.

Pretty sure the producers were running around waving onions in the contestants' faces.
"You will cry, biatch".

What they seem to be forgetting that most people who are successful in the industry have had to work their way up..without the help of being given the chance to be on X Factor, (which often doesn't do them any good anyway as most of X Factor contestants disappear, never to be heard of again ). It's like the contestants nowadays are just 'lazy' and if they don't get a shortcut to the good life they're just 'not playing'.
Good grief, they haven't got some deadly incurable disease and will die if they don't get chosen to be 'saved'...jeez Just get back to your bliddy job or the dole, like the rest of the human race, get rid of the sense of self entitlement and the feeling of thinking you deserve to make it to the top just because you 'want ' it and think you are best thing since sliced bread. Keep up with the music and mebbye...mebbye.. if your very very very very very very lucky you might make it... but probably errr.. 'not '. But that's life sunshine.”

Good post. We all know "how much it means to them" but I'm sick of the crying and the using their children as sob stories. Get a grip, do your best in auditions and be likeable. If youre any good it will happen. Just don't put us all off before you even get to live shows!!!!

I record it so that I can fast forward through all the crying and the back story. I am really not interested, we all know that they want it so much , just do not want it forced in my face by the producers and I am not taken in by it.

F Forward reduces the watching time and adverts and I enjoy it much more.

Some songs they should be forced to cover next year:

Alison Moyet's All Cried Out
Pretenders' Stop Your Sobbing

Well said, you'd think that the powers that be would've gotten the message by now..

If any of us who remember the first few series hark back, there were a few moments, such as Steve Brookstein in Simon Cowell's house breaking down with the pressue of it all, which was credible.

I have no issue with the occasional display of emotion..music is an emotion driving medium..and I'll cry at the drop of a hat to a great performance, or even a delicately sung ballad.....they don't have to be shouted or intense 100% of the time, but someone, somewhere, obviously made the decision that seeing people falling apart every 30 seconds was "good T.V."

In fact, I think it's one of the main reason why people have turned away in droves and the sooner they get that, the better....

And, while we're on the subject of endless blubbing..maybe a little restraint in the screaming and jumping up and down every 5 seconds department might help?

Rich.
