Tamera, in a word.

I believe she is their plan A right now, assuming more stories of drugs and bullying don't continue to plague her. As much as I dislike her, you must all be able to see the potential with this girl, they've got their first real shot at a huge international, Beyoncé style star with her.

Abi and Hannah are gonna be a piece of cake to get out when they're ready to be disposed of. Abi, just like Janet, will be hyped and then dropped like a sack of spuds.

Melanie however, is Irish and wouldn't be so easy to dispose of. I truly believe that if she had made the finals, she'd have had a good shot of winning. The Irish vote is strong. The English vote would be split among the contestants, including Melanie. She's also incredibly pretty and has a fantastic voice, that we've not even heard a fraction of its potential.

No doubt the haters are going to say my theory is ridiculous, but mark my words, Tamera will win, assuming no more bad press.

I think she didn't make it because she is white bread - bland and nothing special. In tune, pretty but no star quality at all. If it were a choice between her or Tamera there is just no contest, same for Hannah and even Abi is quirkier. I think Nicole made 3 solid choices.

She didn't make it because she doesn't have star quality. That's it. Other shows look at only the voice and they don't find stars. You need more than just a voice, for me, I don't think Melanie had any charisma, and her vocals weren't good enough to compensate for that.

Tamara is definitely plan A right now, I think thats why they gave her a chance tonight to say why she wanted this, to Nicole, - it seemed a way to do some damage control on the stories that came out about her past. That said, there's a reason why she is their plan A - she has star quality - the complete look and package; and there is a reason why Melaine has not been put through after 4 attempts - she doesnt have star quality.

Melanie is at 33% in this Mirror poll right now even though she is out .This is why she got sent home she got too popular with the UK public and was a danger to Tamera , so she had to go

Shall we go through the entire list of finalists and see how many of them had star quality? What's that? You can't be bothered? Why's that? Oh, yes, it's because there's SO many acts that have lacked "star quality" that have made the live shows that we'd be here all night.

Star quality has sod all to do with her not going through, it's never bothered them before - half of the winners lack it! Although, I don't agree with the opening post, either.

I don't believe that the reason she didn't get through is because there's another chosen one or anything like that, it's simply because the show loves the drama of it all and they thought axing Melanie would create the most drama out of her category.

Tamera = Cher Lloyd. Too unlikeable to win it but will probably go on to sell records as long as she doesn't get kicked off in shame

And for those of you going on and on about lack of star quality, then why did they invite her back? Surely if in their opinion she lacked it, why invite her back?

Does Adele have star quality? I'd say absolutely not. But she's incredible. Melanie would have done well, I have no doubt.

It's because she wasn't good enough. Sorry, but if she didn't have the "I've tried 10 times" backstory and edit, I just wouldn't have remembered her. She is so unremarkable and she was in a tough category. There wasn't much reason for Nicole to pick her when there were more than 3 other girls who were stronger and more polished than her. This show isn't a charity.

Say what you want about Wagner and most of the other contestants, but most of them at least had a distinctive look. Melanie is so plain and boring, she fades into the background and every performance seems like a struggle for her to keep people interested. Her vocals are nothing special, she shouldn't have sung Run as the Leona comparisons didn't help her. She just comes off as missing something.

She's tried so many times, and it hasn't worked. She needs to pursue other avenues because I just don't think this is right for her.

I agree, she's not a star and it was the right decision.

Also agree with OP about Tamera. There is definitely something about that girl. She has the makings of something that could turn out to be very special.

I agree that Tamera is the likeliest winner as she has the potential to be a true star. However, I don't buy your conspiracy theory. Hannah is a much greater threat to Tamera and a tougher opponent than Melanie would have been.

Hannah is not very likeable. Give her a bad song and she's gone. She will be the easiest of the girls to get rid of.

Abi will have a bigger fan base but still not difficult to shift.

We keep hearing about Melanie's supposed lack of star quality as a valid reason not to put her through as if Nicole put through three global superstars this evening, when chances are all three of them may flop on the live shows and not even reach the final (which would tell us that they were lacking star quality also).

Wasnt Ella meant to be the most popular last year at this stage? I think Melanie would have gone exactly the same way and made it about half way through the competition. Both girls - nice voice but no star quality.
