Hey why do most of you think Nicholas will win he is not a strong singer Hannah and Sam Bailey and Tamera and Miss Dynamix are all better singers than him IMO.

I agree, but he has an outstanding, beautiful tone and melodic quality in his vocal. That counts for a lot.

I know but remember in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011 the winners could actually sing like Shane Ward could and Leona Lewis could and Alexandra Burke could and Little Mix could and even the runners up could as well and people in third and fourth place like JLS, One Direction, Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson the X Factor is just not about looks its about singing although Shane Ward, JLS and One Direction are all good looking they can/could all sing

Because, as you know, this show isn't about singing.

Because the young girls will vote for him who think hes "fit".

Actually, I think, with a little work, he has a quality voice.

And, rare among singers these days, like Abi, he doesn't seem to have fallen victim to the "let's meander all over the place and sing far more notes than were originally intended by the writer of the song," disease, which is endemic these days.

He doesn't have the tone quality, or range of Joe McElderry, but, out of those you've mentioned above, I know I'd prefer to listen to him singing..

Actually, I quite like Hannah's voice, but am not sure I can put up with the endless blubbing..

Well that is a stupid reason for someone to vote for him but do we really need another boy to win again I mean James Arthur won last year, Matt Cardle won in 2010, Joe McEldrey won in 2009, Leon won in 2007, Shane Ward won in 2005 and Steve won in 2004. A girl needs to win this year.

Sad to say, you've hit a nail on the head there..

People aren't voting for vocal ability much of the time, they're voting for people they fancy....which often means good vocalists are ousted early on..

But, then, why should the public be any different from the judges?

I don't think Louis chose his 3 on the basis of their vocal ability.

In the end, IMO, it should be about the best vocalist..male, or female.

Nicholas has a massive shot at winning this.

What do you mean I've hit the nail on the head there? I think Hannah has the strongest voice in the competition this year. It should be based on Vocal ability every year not just looks, Louis should of picked Paul over Nicholas.

He's got the Scottish vote, mums, grannies and younguns will vote for him. He's an emotive singer, that's essential to get people to actually bother voting, just being good isn't enough. Six of the nine previous winners have been male (only five of the female soloists have made the top 3 and 16 males, plus 6 groups 4 of them all male). No males in the overs and they are a pretty weak category. Question marks over the likeability of the other early favourite Tamera. Hannah isn't your typical pop star, may have vocal issues and Abi is already being labelled a one trick pony by her own mentor. Groups have a poor track record with only one win and they don't look likely to do well this year. There were better "boy bands" last year and neither made the final.

Nicholas is an exceptional singer for 16. He is not good looking and does not have much personality but not only has he got a beautiful voice, he can really emote and put a song across. This is the difference between him and Tamera: she can sing but her songs are not touching.

Nicholas's biggest handicap will be Louis. Nicholas is so young he will do as told and Louis will likely choose naff 'young' songs.

He secured the Mum/Nan vote for the entire competition the moment he turned up in a suit, Scotland always vote for their own so he'll get massive numbers from them every week, and while he's not the best singer on the show, he's still good enough that nobody can really dislike his voice, so he's never gonna get voted out.

I don't think he's the best in the competition this year, but anyone who's seen X Factor before should definitely have him down as the favourite to win.

Well that is not a good reason for him to win his voice is ok but Hannah, Tamera, Sam Bailey, Miss Dynamix and Rough Copy are all better singers than him. What is the point of X Factor it might well be for good looks now. When Simon was a judge we actually had some people on the show who could actually sing.

I'd actually like an Over or a boyband to win this year.

not saying it's *right* - I even said he wasn't the best singer one the show - but it's why he should be favourite to win.

Even when Simon was around the best singer rarely won.

Well the best singer won in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

Young boy, competently singing ballads - grandmas will vote for him like they did for Leon Jackson and Joe McElderry. Unfortunately, we all know what happened to Leon and Joe after the show.
