Zoe Devlin - would you have put her through?
I'm really confused why she wasn't put through, I also get the feeling if there is a wild card they'll put Joseph up from Sharon's category over Zoe. But I don't get it, she's very pretty, unique, reminds me of Caro Emerald and the type of music she does. Do you think she'd do well on the live shows? Sharon has put through 3 underdogs, who all belt out music, who are not marketable with Sam probably lasting the longest.

She would have been eliminated really early. Hardly anyone would vote for her.

Good voice, but sometimes she was forcing it and sounding slightly unnatural as though she had spent a lot of time imitating her favorite artists ,she hit a couple of very unpleasant notes, and others were better in their auditions ,IMO.,so,no. I would not have put her through over them, in spite of the fact that she is talented in her own right.

Yes. She would have been my second choice, a long way behind Sam. I would have been struggling to fin a third - probably Shelley, for lack of any better option. I think the fact that she is not a 'belter', but something a little different, was a reason to put her through, for a bit of variety.

I would have put her or Andrea through instead of one of the fat shoutee girls, would have been a bit of variety

I think I probably would have, in place of Shelley. I don't dislike Shelley at all, but I feel the three that Sharon chose are fairly similar in that they're all "belters" and I prefer Zoe's quiet, almost retro-sounding voice.

Personally Shelly would have been my second last choice for that category, with Flute girl firmly in last place. The grinding/dancing wasnt a good look on her, I think she could do comedy instead!
Zoe at least had a distinctive voice but she probably doesn't have a wide appeal to audiences. |

How are they three underdogs? I'd say Sam is a front runner.
I like Sam, she seem sweet and she will get the votes but whats her market, I dont think she could win. |

I meant in terms of the shiny pop star image and easy to market....they dont really fit in and Shelly is outgoing but the other two its more about belting it out when its more than just a singing contest. Actually will be really interesting to see them on the live shows and how they are presented and come across.

She only needs votes to win. Not a market.

Where will she get the votes from, though? Its possible she might get the 30-something, divorced lady vote but is that enough to win?

For what it's worth, everyone I know likes her and none of those people are 30-something divorced ladies.

I would definitely have put Zoe through, there's a clear market for her style of music, even though it's niche and fairly low-key. As an artist she has the most credibility.

I would have put her through instead of Shelley - who is really nothing special.
She wouldn't have won, but she was different from the others - had class & style. The others just stand & belt out Whitney songs which I'm getting very tired of. Zoe also didn't cry QUITE as much as the other 35 auditionees, which is enough to put anyone through in my book. How irritating was all that? More TV time was devoted to crying than singing. |

I would have put her through, though I guess she would have struggled for votes. But at least she would have been something a little different. I imagine Lorna, Shelly and Sam will all compete for a similar vote. And that division could mean early exits...

She's too unique for such a generic show.
I am kind of surprised Abi got through but I guess they think she could be the next Diane Vickers? Zoe is a beautiful little thing and she also has a talent but I think she was just too different. (I don't think she is that different or unique but I am talking in "X-Factor" terms) |

Most engaging by far of the Overs for me, so that's a Yes. I'd find Shelley the easiest elimination: Sharon I think referred to her "bad habits", which she'll have developed over years and which aren't likely to go away much faster if at all. Then, I suppose her bubbly personality thing just about qualifies her as a novelty act, and perhaps doing without one would have been too radical a departure in someone's reckoning.
