[pause]..........

[pause]......

camera pans to contestant who has tears in their eyes and wants to be put out of their misery like someone who has taken a vase to the antique roadshow and just wants to know how much its worth............

[5 minutes later with cheesy music building in the background]

it's not good news...................

camera pans back to contestant who now looks crushed and has tears rolling down their face

I am going to assume that the batteries on your remote were dead and that you couldn't get up off the sofa because someone had chained you there.

You could have always done what I did and record it and watch it on a delay to fast forward through the bits (yes there were lots) but if you watched X-factor before you should know what was coming.

I know. First time I watched judges houses in years. I'd rather have eaten razor blades. Certainly won't do it again. ITV have achieved the impossible. They televise a singing competition without showing any singing. In a weird kind of way it's genius.

Well... you did sort of ask for it Asking how much of your life you'd wasted - you don't have to!

"but I've made my decision."

Yep, probably weeks beforehand..the sad thing is, that many people actually buy this "guff."

Yet, we put ourselves through it, year, after year..possibly in the hope that somehow it'll be different..

Gary Barlow was my great hope for this "competition," a while back, but that hope was dashed pretty quickly when he picked Frankie Cocozza..

He keeps, with a str8 face, banging on about it being "all about the singing."

These days I take any thing he says with a substantial pinch of salt.

Anything Louis Walsh, or Sharon O have to say, I find beyond banal.....

But, no doubt, we'll have a few moments of drama like Walsh walking out and it'll be in the papers the next day as if it hadn't been scripted from the start..

Rich.

You weren't actually asking for advice though were you, you were hoping that someone was going to say, oh aren't you right? Unfortunately there was simple answer to your own conundrum and that was to switch off.

I know......as if Simon and the producers would leave clowns like Walsh and Shitsinger with actual decisions to be made

Officially, there was more time given to EVERYONE, yes EVERYONE crying on the Sat & Sun shows, that there was given to their singing.

"I'm doing this for my children".
"How can I go back & tell my 3 year old that I didn't get through" (yes, someone actually said that!)
"This means everything to me. It's my last chance"

In the old days, singers went out there & worked the clubs, got on a circuit, waorked on cruise ships, because they wanted to do what they loved doing, i.e. singing.
I have nothing against XFactor (I really want to love it more than I am doing at the moment), but please don't say "this is m last chance" when you haven't even TRIED to get out there & work.

Some of them are out there working, as we discovered last year with Chris, for example..so, some of them are not the "green," wannabes, that we've been lead to believe..

They're just desperate wannabes..

They did put a Leona track in the background (I can't remember which one) but it wasn't Footprints...however I could be wrong

To be fair, I barely know the difference between any of them.

I should know being a huge Leona fan but I think I wasn't paying too much attention with the background music as we were all probably caught up with all the drama

Its the same when some 16/17 year old says " I have waited for this chance all my life"

"I Will Be" was their favourite Leona Lewis track this year. The use of that song surprised me because it wasn't released as a single in the UK, although I don't think One Direction's "Moments" was either and that featured last year. Anyway...
